Raven was sitting in his new LC getting a hang on the controls when a message alert popped up on his LC monitor. It was from Walter.
Walter:621, I've got some business to take care of. I need to Hawk some Intel to the Corps and secure a backer for our trip to the Ice fields. One job for you while I'm out...rest up, you and Iris
The message ended. Raven was surprised he remembered her name. Ravens vision was tinted red.
Ayre:Raven...
She appeard next to him, leaning out from behind his seat.
Ayre:I see your Handler is away on business
Raven:you have a plan don't you?
He'd gotten to know Ayre enough that she usually had a plan for what to so next.
Ayre:about that trip to the Ice Field. Balem has a job for us already. Let's take a look, shall we?
Raven:fine
Raven hopped out the LC and to the main monitor. It's screen turned red and Ayre appeard again next to it.
Ayre:here's the request from Balem. They want you to carry an advanced survey of the Ice Field
Raven:hard to do when I'm hundreds if not thousands of miles away
Ayre:it's to confirm the information Walter gave them about the Convergence. As for crossing the Alean Ocean.
Images popped up.
Ayre:this is the intercontinental cargo launcher. Installed on the upper level of Grid 086. The Grid is occupied by the Dozers...outlaws that treat Coral like a drug
Raven had heard of these Dozers. All he really knew was that their junkies.
Ayre:it's also rhe territory of a notorious group of arms dealers who call themselves RaD
Raven:so fight our way through the Grid and get to the launcher. Seems easy enough
Ayre looked at him.
Ayre:don't be overconfident Raven. This will be a perilous journey but I will be here to support you
Raven stood up.
Raven:appreciated
He turned and saw Iris outside hanging her legs off the side.
Raven:I'll be a minute
Ayre:take all the time you need Raven
She dissapeard. He walked down to Iris and stood next to her.
Raven:Walter gave me a job
Iris:oh yeah? Who for?
Raven:Balem. Want me to go to the Ice Fields
Iris:how? That's across the sea
Raven:I'm working on that part. I might not be back for awhile
She stood up looking worried.
Iris:how long?
Raven:I'm not sure. I got a plan to get over the sea, I'll contact you when I've arrived
He went to leave.
Iris:just...take it easy. I don't know what that Coral did but I've heard you talking to...no one
Raven:it's just a Gen Four side effect. Voices come and go
That's what he wanted to believe. In reality it's a little different.
Iris:yeah I know about that...
She wanted to say something else but instead...
