It's been a day since my last job. Pater left a message from Rusty. He isn't very good at impressions, but that's the last thing on my mind as of late.

I can't get her out of my head.

I was brought out of my trance by the very cause of it.

Iris:You okay?

Raven:Fine

I stood.

Iris:Taken your meds?

Raven:Yes...

Iris:That didn't sound like someone taking their meds

I actually have, but I have a feeling she won't believe me. I sighed.

Raven:I did. Don't worry

She walked past me. My vision went a little hazay red. Ayre.

Ayre:Raven, we have a request from the Rubicon Liberation Front

I made sure Iris was out of ear shot as I walked down to the terminal.

Raven:rare...

Ayre:Will you take it?

Raven: Of course, money is money

She appeared in front of me.

Ayre:I'm a Rubiconian. They are my people

Raven:Yes, yours not mine

I could hear her pout as I walked past.

Raven:I'll help them...for a price

I sat on the box while the monitor turned red.

Raven:Really?

Ayre:Yes

Raven:Even with my help, there's no guarantee -

Ayre:Listen...

I crossed my arms.

RLF:Your assignment is to eliminate V.VII Swinburne, the Commander of the occupying Force. He's put reacon sqauds around the perimeter to stop intruders or hired help. If we are to retake the wall, you must not be spotted... we're counting on you to handle this discreetly

Raven:My new mech ain't exactly...

I turned to look at it.

Raven:Discreet

Ayre:Raven, this will massively help the RLF. Let's take it

Raven:Oh, I'm taking it...

I walked to my AC.

Raven:I never said I'd like doing it

But before I could do anything.

Iris:And where are you going?

Shit. I turned round.

Raven:Patrol I won't be long

Iris:Since when?

Raven:Since the PCA. Walter wants me on Patroll every fee hours to make sure no one finds us

Iris:Raven, if you haven't noticed... WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!

She was right. I landed in a very secluded spot, a spot no one would dare come out to.

Iris:You're going on a job and didn't tell me!

Raven:So? I've done it before

Iris:That was before you were this sick! We agreed only on missions that are nessacary. None of this side mission bullshit

Raven:How do you know it isn't?

Iris:because you wouldn't hide it...

She was angry. Angrier than I've ever seen her.

Raven:I'll be fine, don't worry...

I loaded up and closed the hatch.

NARRATOR POV

Outside, Iris leaned on the railing as Raven left, looking down.

Iris:Dammit, Raven...
