Iris:Raven...hey Raven?
He was working on the LC. Iris was on the walkway looking smuggly up at him.
Raven:yeah?
Iris:guess what day it is?
Raven:I dunno. Do you even have days on Rubicon?
Iris:yeah in numbers. We don't name the days...I here we used to do that ages ago
Raven:that's stupid
Iris:I know right? Naming a day? Anyway guess what day it is
Raven sighed and turned to look down at her.
Raven:you just said it was dumb to name a day
Iris:this is different! You really don't know what time of year it is?
Raven:I don't even know how old I am
Iris:that's depressing but anyway...it's Christmas!
He had no reaction.
Raven:is that supposed to...mean something to me or?
Iris gasped.
Iris:you don't know what Christmas is!?
Raven:clearly not
He went back to work.
Iris:it's a time of peace! Don't you find it weird how we've had no missions?
Raven thoight for a moment. It was a little strange but he shrugged it off.
Raven:so?
Iris:Balem! Arquebes! The RLF! None of them are fighting anymore!
Raven slid off the top of the LC and landed in front of her.
Raven:so I'm outta the job?
Iris:no idiot! You know its just easier if I actually tell you what it is...Christmas before the War was a happy time for every planet. A time of cheer and festivities...and occasionally the birth of some saviour but they did away with that because it was...stupid?
Raven:sounds that way
Iris:yeah they did away with it. But the point is...we can have a break, people even got presents
Raven:"presents"?
Iris face palmed.
Iris:do I have to explain what a gift is?
Raven:gift? Yeah I know what that is I meant a Present?
Iris:ITS THE SAME THING!
She was getting annoyed.
Raven:there are gaps in my knowledge this is hardly news
Iris screamed into her arm and took a breath.
Iris:okay...we won't have work until Christmas is over
Raven:great that's all I needed
He walked away.
Iris:where you going?
Raven:we have a break right?
He continued to his sleeping spot.
Iris:but I...
He was out of ear shot.
