Asim kept running.

No matter how much he ran at full speed while saving energy, he knew that soon the na'vi would eventual catch up to him and shoot him. What's more, his body was already beginning to be spent up as his lungs burned from inhaling Pandoran air nonstop. He needed a better plan to evade the natives and drive them away from him before he gave up because of tiredness.

Minutes later he found the perfect opportunity.

Up ahead, he could hear the sound of rushing water cascading deeper down below, meaning that there was a river or waterfall. Asim could either jump into the river and let the flow carry him...or jump into the waterfall and stay underwater for as long as he could to fool the na'vi into thinking he had drowned. Either ways it worked for Asim as he continued to sprint and nears the body of water. When finally in range, he saw that it was a tall waterfall. He stopped at the edge of the cliff and looked back, spotting the natives that were nearing him. Some were riding their beast on the ground while others came down from above the trees on their flying creatures. They were all aiming at him with their bows, ready to fire their arrows at the lone human. It seemed like he was cornered with no way to escape from them, but Asim gave a small smirk and spread his arms wide in challenge.

Before he tilted back and let his body fall.

Air rushed past as Asim dived down towards the water, taking a deep breath before impacting it with a great splash. Water and foam surrounded him immediately, and once he recovered he moved his hand and arms so that he began to swim underneath the cascading water above and not surface. While underwater, he noticed that there was some undisturbed water behind the waterfall, meaning there was an area where he could hide. Asim swam until he reached the area and surfaced, seeing that the place was perfect to hide. Now up at the shore, Asim hid and prepared to fight in the event that the na'vi managed to notice that he might have hid behind the waterfall.

The sounds of the na'vi giving out their calls was muffled by the cascading water, but Asim knew that they were there and getting close. His eyes darted around as he saw the shapes of shadows move around in the light that filtered across the falls, as well as the sounds of the flying beasts while he calmed his breath. Moments passed, longer than Asim would have expected, before he heard the natives give another call and then heard them retreat and go away. Asim made sure that he waited another moment to make sure they were all gone before going back out. He used his grappling hook and his knife to slowly and steadily climb up the cliff on the other side of the falls. Once there, he checked all around to determine that none of the na'vis have stayed in hopes of catching him.

So far there was none of them, which gave him a large sense of relief. Even so, he still kept his guard up as he began to walk far from the place he had hid. Now with no natives chasing him, Asim began carrying out his plan by first starting to climb a tree that would overlook everything. With some struggling and help from his equipment, Asim climbed large branch after large branch until he found himself at the top.

There, the view took his breath away.

Everything was beautiful, from the trees that decorated the land, to the mountains and floating boulders that were at the distance, and even the main blue planet that was accompanied by the bright sun. From up there in the treetops, Asim felt a sense of awe...and somewhat of relief after all he has been through. Back alive, having escaped the na'vi, and now on his way to the base to see his family. Asim only hoped that all of them were alright after what happened.

Getting some of the landmarks in sight and remembering the route to the base, Asim hopped from branch to branch back down until he reached the ground safely. "Not too bad...not bad at all. Alright then, Pandora...let's see what else you can throw at me" Asim said to himself as he began to walk again in the direction where he determined was his target. Just a few steps from where he got down, he began to fell some chills again like when the na'vi that chased him moments ago. Asim felt his hairs stand on end again as he felt something watch him from behind, and then he turned around quickly with knife and pistol at the ready.

Nothing. There was nothing there that indicated a native or hostile creature stalking him. Yet...Asim could have sworn that there was something there hidden all around him. Either it was his imagination or his senses were still in overdrive and high alert after the chasing of the na'vi. Whatever the case, he began to back away from the place while looking around. Still there was nothing, and after making sure there was nothing waiting to pounce he turned around and continued his journey.

However, as he continued his travel, he noticed the sky starting to darken and the sun lowering slowly over the horizon. Asim realized that he had to postpone his journey and instead search for a place to rest. The only problem was that at night, more predators came out. That was a stated fact from the very moment that one stepped down on the world of Pandora. And Asim wasn't going to risk his safety by staying asleep on the forest floor. Therefore he searched for another tall tree that he could climb and a branch big enough to support him.

Before he got up to climb, he searched some wood so that he could build a small fire that would keep him warm throughout the night. Once done scavenging he climbed up the tree and settled down. Now up in the tree and night having fully arrived over all of the forest, he saw that the bioluminescent lights were slowly starting to glow. Asim had to admit that it looked more spectacular than in the day, but he didn't let that distract him from watching over his shoulder as he was soon falling asleep.

"Just hang tight, everyone. Soon I'll join up with you guys again..." we're the last words Asim whispered before he closed his eyes, the sounds of the forest and the air around the place being the only thing he heard before falling asleep completely.
