In High Demands

I sit here waiting for a moment of your time,

While you happily make your rounds.

But you seem to keep passing me by,

Not even acknowledging that I'm around.

-

Yet, still I sit here and await my turn,

Hoping that the next time is my chance.

My heart beats faster the closer you get,

But once again not even a glance.

-

Everyone craves a piece of your time,

But the one needing most gets none.

And being a man in high demands,

You won't notice that I've gone numb.

-

There will come a time that I'll need more,

And seek attention from another.

You'll still be happy the way things are,

As I get my needs in the arms of a lover.
