Someone very special ( @HRHpotterhead ) asked me what I love most in the world. Of course my first response was "My kids.!!"

She said "No.. No.. I mean like scenic or something."

So I asked her "Could I think upon it?" And well this is what I came up with.....

A Few of My Favorite Things..

It's not just single objects that I see,
That touch the deep parts within me.
It's sights, touches, scents, and sounds,
That make my heart really pound.
-
Not just my eyes give me that sight,
Seeing with everything is pure delight.
Open up your senses to see what I do,
As I explain some of what I love the most to you.

Through the sounds of a baby's first cry,
To a new soul, life has been given.
A baby bundled snug in a blanket,
Is most definitely a gift from Heaven.
-
The precious clinging on her bosom,
A blessing from God greedily feeds.
A mother's solemn promise to her child,
To protect and provide with every need.

Through the trees and across a colorful meadow,
Where a collection of flowers have taken bloom.
A new born fawn is taking his first step,
To be the prince he'll become very soon.
-
With excited breaths from his pushy mother,
She nudges and encourages his every move.
With the smell of spring swirling in the air,
He stumbles at first but soon gets his groove.

The sun touches the land with a morning kiss,
making the tree tops look ablaze,
Towards the glorious beauty of her presence,
It's very hard not to cast my gaze.
-
She reflects and shimmers on still waters,
As I sit and watch from my cabin on the lake.
Lovely shades of pink and gold make her way,
To light the lands for nature to slowly wake.

Sitting on a sandy shore, salt thick in the air,
The tide rolls in and caresses my dainty toes.
Off on the horizon the sun starts to set,
But I can still feel her warmth on my nose.
-
As the temperature slowly starts to drop,
The wind dances across my trembling skin .
The ocean wins, claiming her for his own,
So that the still of the night can begin.

Out in a field on a clear starry night,
Not a cloud to block my inspiring view.
Though it is dark and hard to see,
A glowing light comes shining through.
-
Over the mountains he slowly rises,
Bright and beautiful for all to see.
The majestic moon lights up the lands,
And pours his glorious rays down on me.

A bright sunny day, with or without clouds,
Brings laughing children out to play.
Flips, cartwheels, and "Tag you're it"s,
"Red Rover, Red Rover!" They sing and say.
-
Sweaty noses and red faces all gather around,
And pull me off the steps to play along.
Joining them in their sunny day games,
Helps my heart and soul grow strong.

The wind starts to blow as a storm rolls in,
And lightning strikes in the dark sky.
The thunder roars rumbling the ground,
And I run outside with a gleam in my eye.
-
I watch as the trees sway side to side,
While they dance for the long awaited rain.
Then I watch as their leaves begin to shiver,
As if the rain gives them pleasure and pain.

The joy and laughter of those I love,
Brings pounding wonders to my heart.
The joyful sight of their smiling faces,
Leaves an everlasting memory and a mark.
-
The feeling of knowing they are always there,
Makes me feel as if I could conquer the world.
I am well-endowed with their undying love,
And it tells me I'm not alone, and I'm a very lucky girl.
