I see you there on that bench, sitting all alone
a tear falls from your eye, and I wonder what went wrong
I reach out for you, to give you a gentle hug
you don't know it yet, but at my heart strings you tug
-
I reach for my screen as your face comes into view
That's when I realize that I'm not really there with you
looking through virtual windows from so far away
sometimes I get caught up and lost in this role play
-
sliding my quick fingers across the keys
suddenly I'm in front of you on my knees
taking your hand and pressing it to my lips
hoping the way I truly feel doesn't slip
-
virtual love is so hard
so close yet so far
never holding the ones you love
is it ever really enough
