This is it

Laying in this bed, as my love ones gather around

There are tears on every face, in the air sniffling sounds

They have all come here, to say their sorrys and goodbyes

I could slap them all, for the silly tears that they cry

-

When they told me I had cancer, I didn't let it take me down

I took all their treatments, fought back in my hospital gown

It went away for awhile, but came back fighting full force

Which is why I'm now laying in the bed dying, of course

-

We fought a good fight, my beautiful lover and I

Been through so much, now she has to watch me die

I wish I could hold her one last time, to tell her I love her so

and that the time has come, she has to let me go

-

As I lay here lifeless, it gives it time to sink in

This is it, it's over, this is really the end

A single tear runs from my eye, landing quietly on the pillow

As the sun shines bright, pushing through the opened window

-

The warm bright glow of the sun, shining on my resting face

Makes my breath hitch in my lungs, and heart slows its pace

Sobbing sounds fill the room, when the pain is finally gone

It's all over now, my life has ended, it is time to move on

-

My spirit leave my body, and looks around the room

Everyone holding each other, in a room filled with gloom

My eyes finally lock with my lover's, and the tears fall from my eyes

She reaches for me saying, I love you baby, wait for me, and goodbye..
