Elijah feels sad because of all the terrible things he did. Damon finds him and consoles him.

The full moon hung low in the night sky, casting eerie shadows upon the walls of the Salvatore Boarding House. Inside, the atmosphere was heavy with an unspoken sorrow. Elijah Mikaelson, the epitome of strength, stood in the dim light of the living room, his eyes clouded with a deep anguish that seemed to consume him.

"Damon," Elijah's voice was barely a whisper, raw with emotion. "I have done terrible things in my long life. I have hurt people, destroyed families. I have sins that I can never undo."

Damon Salvatore, usually so brash and irreverent, approached Elijah cautiously, his heart aching at the sight of the usually composed Original vampire in such pain. He placed a hand on Elijah's shoulder, his touch gentle yet firm.

"We've all done things we're not proud of, Elijah," Damon said, his voice steady. "But we can't change the past. All we can do is try to be better, make amends if we can."

Elijah looked at Damon, his eyes searching for absolution. "I fear I am beyond redemption," he admitted, his voice breaking. "The weight of my sins is too heavy to bear."

Damon's grip on Elijah's shoulder tightened, his gaze unwavering. "No one is beyond redemption," he said, his tone fierce with conviction. "Not as long as they're willing to change, to fight for something better. You're not alone in this, Elijah. I believe in you."

Elijah's eyes welled with tears, a vulnerability he rarely showed. He sank to his knees, the weight of his guilt threatening to crush him. Damon knelt beside him, pulling him into a tight embrace. For a moment, they simply held each other, two souls bound by a shared understanding of pain and redemption.

"You have a good heart, Elijah," Damon said, his voice soft. "I've seen it. I've felt it. And I'll be here to remind you of that, even on the darkest days."

Elijah clung to Damon, the dam of his emotions breaking. He let out a sob, the anguish pouring out of him like a tidal wave. Damon held him, offering solace in the midst of the storm, reminding him that redemption was not a destination but a journey.

Damon Salvatore became more than a lover to Elijah Mikaelson; he became a beacon of hope, a reminder that even the darkest souls could find light in the arms of someone who believed in their capacity to change. And as they clung to each other, Damon whispered words of comfort, vowing to stand by Elijah's side as he faced his demons, their love a guiding light through the shadows of the past.
