Bucky woke Alice up after he parked the car "Alice" he lightly spoke not to startle her "Hmm" she stirred softly "We're home" He moved hair from her face "oh" she spoke groggily "Yea, Nat grabbed your bags" he smiled softly then made sure she didn't fall over when getting out of the car

Alice walked into her room and started unpacking when Bucky walked in "I have gift for you" he spoke "Shit" she jumped softly "language, also sorry, didn't mean to spook you" he walked over to her "It's fine" she looked at him "You know, my mother gave my sister this, said that it goes to the first born daughter, but then well, you know" he looked at something "Oh" she sat down "I got it when she died, told me to give to my first daughter if I have a kid, and well I had you" he smiled "Well, what is it?" she asked quietly

"A pocket watch, it's been in my mothers family since like the 1700s? I could never remember" he handed her a pocket watch that looked in surprisingly good shape for something so old, it had a rabbit on it with flowers all around it, when Alice opened it she saw the hands of a clock ticking along with a singular, small rose "It's beautiful" she spoke "Yea, my mother said that it brought luck to a lot of people, I never believed it but I figured since you have looked at every shiny thing we walked past" he smiled "I love it dad, thank you" she smiled back "You're welcome little one" he ruffled her hair then watched her put the watch in her jacket pocket then kept unpacking

"I can get you something to hold that in, or a chain so you can wear over your neck" he suggested "You don't have to do that" she put some clothes in the drawers "I know but, I want to, that you don't misplace it" he started helping her unpack "Ok" she didn't even try to insist that he didn't get her something to hold in it since she knew she would misplace it eventually "Good" he smiled then helped her finish unpacking "I think this place will be nice for us, for me" she sighed contentedly "Yea" he smiled then pulled in for her a hug and spun her around as she laughed softly

Alice was out in the ward with Bucky with Nat was watching she was cooking dinner, the smiled on Alice's face made her happy to see that even with everything she has been through growing up she could still be happy, Nat just was watching Bucky and Alice running around the yard chasing each other as if they were never separated

Eventually she started tearing up thinking about it, she hated how Alice didn't get an ounce of the normal childhood almost every other kid got, the daddy-daughter dances, watching movies on a Friday night in December while drinking hot cocoa and waiting for the snickerdoodles to come out of the oven, first dance, first boyfriend, or girlfriend, someone to comfort her after a nightmare, but all Alice got was being trained a killer

Nat called for everyone to come in for dinner when she heard a knock on the door "Hey" she said after she saw Peter when opening the door "Hi Mrs. Romanoff" he smiled "Peter!" Alice ran over to him and gave him a tight hug "I missed you too Alice" he chuckled while hugging back

After dinner Peter and Alice went outside until he went home and once she got inside she looked half asleep, she sat on the couch beside Bucky and passed out almost immediately, Bucky picked her up and took her to her room laying her gently on her bed "Good night little one" he whispered softly while covering her up, he kissed her forehead then walked out shutting the door behind him quietly

"She looked like she was having fun today" Nat looked up from her book as Bucky sat down "Yea" he smiled "I saw you guys running around outside today, she looked really happy" she smiled back softly "She was, you should have heard her laugh, it was so raw and real" he chuckled some "That's good" she closed the book "Very" he smiled even more
