Voices

Alice stared at Steve, the fear in her eyes slowly turning to a blank emotion as each of her words were spoke, her mind being filled with continuous voices

"Murder him"

"No mercy"

"Mistake"

"Don't let him beat you"

"Fight back"

Freddie looked at Alice with a small glint of confusion as Steve undid the ropes and pulled him from the chair aggressively "Go on Freddie, fight her" he pushed him in front Alice was now standing in the middle of the floor staring blankly at him

"Alice?" He spoke steadily and quietly before catching a punch she had thrown him

"You 3 get the one she tied up and go back to the base, I'll stay here to watch" Steve snapped at them and waved them away as they nodded and walked off

Alice swept Freddie out from under his feet, he groaned once he hit the ground then slowly stood up and caught another punch "Alice, I'm not going to fight you" he spoke through a few heavy breaths before he got kicked in the knee and yelped in pain since it was the knee he had messed up during ballet as a child

Freddie had managed to get Alice on the ground, she groaned as her back hit the ground "Alice, snap out of it!" he held her hands down before groaning as he felt her knee him in the back and push him off of her and stood up "Fuck" he sighed while standing up

Alice breathed heavily as she heard more voices, each of them yelling and shouting different things at her, she grabbed her gun from the ground and shot it in Freddie's direction but purposefully missed so it made just a skin deep wound, and that's when Freddie realized she was trying to fight the mind control

"Alice, I know you're in there, don't let those voices in your head be your demons" he placed a hand on his wound as he stood up, his voice gentle but also loud enough to hear then groaned as he felt Alice hit him in the face, he wiped blood from his nose

About 20 minutes had passed before Alice stopped, her eyes narrowing "Don't stop now soldier, you're so close" Steve taunted, noticing that she was coming out of it "You can easily get rid of him"

"I don't think I will" Alice looked at him, "Freddie, I think it's best we run"

Freddie nodded then ran out of the door with Alice in hand as Steve followed after them

"Are you ok?" Freddie looked at her as they ran towards the house

"Yea" She ran as fast as she could "Are you? Because your knee isn't-" she noticed him having a slight limp as he ran

"It's fine. I'm fine" he reassured her "But we can't get back up, I mean we left SHIELD so" his voice showed evident worry as Steve caught up to them

"We're gonna have to improvise" she grabbed a hair tie out of her jacket pocket "Forgot I had this" she quickly and sloppily tied her hair up into a messy bun so her hair wouldn't get in her eyes

"Ok" he groaned in frustration "5 years, not a single thing for 5 years and they suddenly show up again"

"Why?" she thought out loud "How would they even have found us?" as she quickly stopped at a cliff top "Fuck"

"Where are you gonna go now?" Steve taunted as she looked back at him

"Freddie" She said his name in russian "Please tell me you know how to-"

"I know Alice, but it's risky, and we don't even have any rope" he said back in Russian

"Don't we?" She smirked, making rope appear in her hand "How fast can you run on that knee without putting it in pain?" she looked at him

"Decently, how quickly can you tie a knot?" he smiled softly

"About 2 minutes, can you last that long?" she raised an eyebrow and smiled as he nodded

"Can you two please speak in English?" Steve said, agitation in his voice

"You think you'd know as a secret agent, but" Freddie shrugged then ran off as Steve followed after him

"It always the stupid ones we have to fight" Alice chuckled as she started walking to the closest tree
