Alice was always clever, in her own ways, the same way Freddie was clever in his own way, Alice could always find out a way to find a person, whether it was where they ate, lived, or even their route to work

Alice could tell you how certain things work when it came to the brain, like how dying from heartbreak is a real thing, or the brain can't distinguish the difference between reality and fiction so the attachment you feel to the character is real to the brain, because no matter how smart Freddie is there are still things he doesn't know so of course he likes learning new things

She was also great at telling the name of a song she knew if you played it for a few seconds, she was a quick learner, she always had a curious mind, constantly wanting to figure out how something worked, solving puzzles

"Alice?" Freddie looked at her from the kitchen "Yea" She looked up from her notebook to look at him "If you're strong enough to go a few hours without taking a small nap, do you think we could do an escape room?" he asked with a soft, hopeful smile

"Sure, but if I get light headed I'll sit down for a minute or two" she sat her sketchbook down

"Yay" he smiled some more "Yay" she smiled, getting up, setting her sketchbook down

Once they got to where the escape room is Freddie talked to the person to get to the directions to where the room was then walked back over to her "Let's go" he smiled then walked to the room with her

"Ok, so, we need a key right?" he looked at her "Yea, try the walls, some of them might have hidden doors, I'll look around the desks and all that" she nodded softly starting to look around the plants

A few minutes later when they had searched all around the room all they found were puzzle pieces "50 puzzle pieces but no key" he sighed "There is a thing over there to put them in" she pointed over to a table that had a rectangle carved into it

"Ok, good, good" He walked over to it quickly with puzzle pieces then started placing them down "Little help here please"

"Right" she walked over and help him until it was done and heard a small click somewhere near them

Alice found where it was and opened it "Key" she smiled grabbing it and taking it to the door, opening

"Time for the next level" he smiled at her "Yay" she smiled then walked through the door, Freddie following after her

"Ok, this one has a different theme, that's great, different story line" she spoke sarcastically "That's lovely" his tone frustrated

Alice was looking around the room for another key when the intercom crackled "Attention players this is your last and final call before you are locked in this room" the speaker chuckled "What?!" Alice looked up "Not forever, just about an hour without clues" he reassured

"Oh" Freddie sighed with relief "An hour without clues" She repeated quietly, dragging her hand through her hair "That's lovely" he groaned speaking sarcastically

About an hour and a half later they had finally managed to get out of the escape room "Oh you are one clever girl!" Freddie smiled at her "I wouldn't say that" she smiled softly

"I would, you were amazing, you got us out of most of those rooms in 20 minutes, even I couldn't do that and I'm the smartest man on this planet" he unlocked the car

"Well, I may have been a little decent" she got in and clicked the seat belt in "Oh, you did more than decent" he got in the started the car before buckling "Ok fine, I was pretty good in there" she smiled "That's the Alice I know" he looked at her for a moment then looked back at the road

Once they got back to the house Alice sat on the counter in the kitchen "You know what we should do?" Freddie turned to look at her from the stove"What?" She looked up at him "Have a karaoke night" he smiled brightly, taking the burgers out of the pan and putting them on the plate

"No, I'm not singing-" she drew a deep breath before getting cut off "We're doing it, because I heard you during the school concerts, and you were amazing" he walked over to her handing her a plate "Well-" she started

"I don't wanna hear it, Alisa, you are using that voice for something" he took a bite out of his burger "Whatever" she smiled softly while eating a fry "glad we can agree on something, now, after we eat do you want to go to the record store with me?" he looked at her

"Yea, sure, half moon or?" she set her plate beside her "Half moon, it's the one in Cold Springs which means it's closer tous" he sighed, finishing his burger then starting to eat his fries "ok" she took a bite of her burger and grimaced softly as she felt the cheese for a moment then grabbed the ketchup from the fridge and put it on her burger

"Alice! Are you coming or what?" He yelled up the stairs to her room "Yea, hang on! I can't find a jacket" she shouted back "Just borrow one of mine!" he sighed softly "Nevermind! It was in my closet" she grabbed it then ran down the steps as she put it on "Good" he smiled at her then grabbed the car keys and walked to out the door as Alice followed after

"You know, I think we found some pretty good records" he looked at her for a moment then back at the road "I just think the lady at the counter was pretty" she smiled softly "Of course you do, you find every woman pretty" he chuckled "It helps with self esteem, I like making sure woman know they're beautiful no matter what they look like" she looked at him "That is very nice actually" he nodded his head to the side in agreement "See" she smiled even more

"Oh! You're going to be 17 in 2 months" Freddie looked at her "Oh yea, oh! What's that like?" she looked at him "It's probably just like every year but you're more and more stressed about becoming an adult" he smiled "Oh" she nodded softly as she looked down softly "Something's wrong, what is it?" he noticed how she had a small look of sadness plastered on her face "It's just, dad won't be here for it" she looked up at him "Oh, well, I'm sure that he'd be there, as well-" he started

"You don't have to say anything because I'm a pagan Freddie" she looked out the window "Great, because as an atheist I have no idea how to explain that" he sighed "Good" she spoke softly
