Freddie was talking with the doctor about things to do for Alice's birthday as Donna was setting streamers up around the rails of the TARDIS, "We should take her to Paris, she's always wanted to go, or take her to go see one of her favorite bands in concert, like Metallica or Nirvana" Freddie was rambling "Or we could take her to see-"

"Freddie" The doctor looked at him while wrapping a gift

"Yea?" he looked at him

"We should let her process what's happening before we do anything" he chuckled "Donna!" he shouted softly since was a short distance away while turning to look at her

"Yea?" she looked at him, handing some streamers to Jack

"How are the decorations going?" he stood up, handing the half wrapped box to Freddie so he could finish it

"Pretty much done, why?" she dragged her hand through her hair

"I need help making Alice's cake" he gave a soft, nervous smile

"You've never made a cake before have you" she sighed as she saw the doctor shook his head no with a smile "Alright, let's go"

Alice woke up around 9-ish in the morning, and stretched before grabbing a hair tie and pulling her hair into a messy bun, some of her shorter lays falling from the hair tie then walked to her closet and flipped through the shirts and jackets she had hung up, she grabbed a shirt that said eat the rich, feed the poor in bold letters with sprayed bleach stains all over it and a polyester jacket that had a several patches on it, one being the anarchy symbol, an electric guitar, a skull hand, and one that said, rock and roll never dies

She walked to her dresser and grabbed a pair of ripped jeans and fishnet stockings, she got dressed then brushed her teeth, pulled her hair down, styled her hair to have messy shag look to it then used some eyeshadow to give her eyes a smoky look and put some mascara on, once she finished she walked out of her room then started to the control room of the TARDIS

"Oh, morning" The doctor caught up behind her from walking out of the kitchen

"Morning" she smiled, looking to him

"Happy Birthday" he smiled back to her "Eat the rich, feed the poor? Really?"

"Yes really, half the rich people on Earth are a bunch of pricks" she sighed

"There's Freddie, he's not a prick for a rich person" he raised an eyebrow

"Yea, but, doesn't mean I won't feed his money to the poor" she smiled, her tone of voice showed she was joking "Now let's get off the topic of my shirt, if you're going to take me to a victorian era party I will-"

"We won't take you to a victorian era party, Freddie said you hated wearing dresses" he reassured her "Trust me, you'll have a great birthday, just like I promised"

They eventually got to the control room and gasped when she saw the decorations "You-" she looked at the door who was smiling

"Don't look at me, it was all Freddie's idea" he pointed over to Freddie who was setting the wrapped gifts on the table in a neat order

"Well, Donna helped with the idea" Freddie looked at her "Jack mostly flirted with me"

"If you tell me that he kissed you I will actually hit him" she gave a stern look

"Then I just won't tell you then" he smiled "Happy Birthday" he walked over to her and hugged her

"Thanks" she hugged back

Alice was laughing at something Freddie had said as they were eating breakfast, she had requested waffles with strawberries "Do you ever think about what we'll be like in 20 years?" he asked her

"No, usually when I think about that something bad happens, although, I did have a dream last night that you died, so" she had a disgusted look on her face "Best we don't think of it"

"Right, that's-" Freddie started before Alice gave a look that said 'what did I just say' plastered all over it, he nodded "Sorry" then went back to eating "What do you want to do today?"

"Burn down the white house" she smiled sarcastically "I wanna go to uhm" she sat there thinking, she eventually zoned out for several minutes, everyone waiting taking bites of their food, occasionally making small conversation with each other "Oh! We could- no, stupid idea, we could see- no, reminds me of mama, I'd start crying" she sighed

"It's alright, take your time" The doctor smiled reassuringly

"Could we see Nirvana, in concert, I've always wanted to but, y'know" she looked at him with a hopeful look, a glimmer in her eyes that have been seen very rarely since Bucky had died

"Told you she would like that" Freddie mumbled to him the bit his lip when he kicked his leg

"Of course we can, it's your day after all" he smiled

"Yay" she smiled

A few hours later Alice was reading in the library with music playing quietly on her phone, she would occasionally slightly shout at how stupid characters were being, or how a character just needed to kiss who they were in love with when the doctor walked in

"Oh there you are" he smiled "We've been looking for you for 30 minutes"

"And you didn't check the library first?" she looked up, bookmarking her book then setting it down

"Well, there's a lot of rooms you'd be in, the kitchen, your room, the art room, here, and it's a big place" he smiled watching her stand up

"I never would of guessed that the TARDIS is a big place" she spoke sarcastically "I mean, I'd imagine it would be small since it's bigger on the inside"

"Very funny, come on, dinners ready" he chuckled as she followed him out of the library to the kitchen

Alice was smiling the entire way through dinner, and her smile was even bigger when she saw her cake, and opened her gifts, because just like the Doctor had promised, it was truly the best birthday she ever had "Thanks guys, for the best day in a long time" she smiled, thinking about how much better her life has been out of HYDRA even if people did try to mess it up along the way, but more importantly, she was more proud of the fact that she had managed to make it another year
