Mission

Alice was sitting in the kitchen when Bucky and Natasha walked in "We have to go on a mission kiddo, I'm sorry" he said "It's fine dad, I have school anyway" she groaned softly, she really didn't want to go to school, she hated it, and she definitely didn't want to go when her powers were going off like crazy every time she got upset in anyway "I know it sucks but hey, you'll get to see Peter" he placed a hand on her shoulder "I don't want to hurt him though" she sighed "You won't, I promise" he kissed her forehead "And I packed a lunch for you" Nat looked at her "Thanks Mama" she smiled at her "You're welcome"

Alice was at her locker grabbing her books when Peter walked up behind her "There's my best friend" he smiled softly "Hey Peter" she looked at him "Ok, you're not as happy, what's going on" he looked at her "I'm just tired that's all" she put a book in her locker "Well I have a gift for you" he smiled softly "Really?" her face lit up "Yea" he handed her a small box "What is it" she started to open it "Just finish opening it and you'll see" he waited

When Alice had opened the box she saw a necklace inside with a crescent moon shaped pendant "I love it" she smiled brightly as Peter helped her put it on "I knew you would" he smiled and put it on for her

The day had finally ended and Peter had come over to hang out with Alice "So, anything new happen?" he asked "No" she was obviously lying "Ok" he knew she was lying but he didn't want to pry "Anything happen with you?" she asked "Not really, but May did get a higher paying job, well, not much higher but, her wage is a few bucks higher" he smiled softly "That's good" she smiled softly "Mhm" he looked at her

Alice was just drawing in her room while Peter was just sitting there watching "Ok, seriously, where is your head at today?" he took the pencil "Hey! Give that back" she reached for the pencil but Peter stood up and held it above his head "You've zoned out for 10 minutes each class today, and you haven't said a word in 40 minutes" he looked at her today "I told you, I'm just tired, can you please give me my pencil back" she groaned "Alice, I just want to know what's wrong" he looked at her with a soft look in his eyes "It doesn't matter anyway" she jumped to grab her pencil but still couldn't reach "It matters to me" he remarked "Peter just-" she started "Just what Alice? I'm worried about you Alice" he looked her in the eyes

"Well you shouldn't be" she sighed and gave up "Alice, I'm your best friend, I can tell when something is wrong, I'm going to be worried about you" he insisted "Peter, please don't worry about me, you don't need to" she had raised her voice a little "Well I'm going to, you're my best friend and you don't talk about how you're feeling, of course I'm going to be worried!" he yelled back in turn "Why?! Why do you care?!" she questioned "Because I love you! You said it yourself, I'm the only person who can understand what you're feeling!" he remarked "Please stop yelling" she spoke softly

"And if you can't see that then maybe we shouldn't be friends!" he put the pencil down as he looked at the look on Alice's face "What?" she looked scared, confused, upset, she had managed to hurt Peter without even having her powers going crazy "You can't have walls up all your life Alice, I want to help you but I can't, not when you don't talk about how you're feeling" he looked at her with an unreadable look "Peter I-" she had tears in her eyes "No Alice, if you won't realize I'm trying to help then there's no way that I can help you" he shook his head when he started speaking

And as for Alice, instead of saying anything she just walked out of the room while shutting the door aggressively behind her and walked into the kitchen "Alice wait" Peter followed after her opening the door, Alice grabbed a bottle of whiskey out of the cabinet and a cup then poured some and started to take a drink before Peter took the cup out of her hand

"You're not going to do that Alice" Peter sighed "Do what?" she just sat there, not looking at him "Destroy yourself" he carefully poured the whiskey back into the bottle "And what do you care, you said we shouldn't be friends anymore, remember?" she picked at her skin "I didn't mean any of that" he held her hand to stop her from picking "I just didn't want to hurt you" she sighed "From what?" he looked at her "This" she made a small bit of purple wisps come from her fingers "And why would that hurt me?" he turned her head to look at him "Because when I get upset they go crazy and I can't control it" she looked back at her hand "Alice, that wouldn't make me hate you" he sighed softly as she looked at him "So you still want to be friends with me?" she asked looking at him "Yea" she smiled "Yay!" she said excitedly as she hugged him tightly "Yay indeed" he laughed slightly as he hugged her back

A few hours, later Alice had fallen asleep while watching a movie with Peter, Peter was just there watching the movie while playing with her hair so she didn't have any nightmares, we watched the movie as she slept peacefully beside him, holding on to his arm, a few hours she had woke up and saw that she was Peter was beside her "Hey" she said still waking up fully "Hey" he smiled softly "Was the movie good?" she asked "Yea, did you sleep well?" he asked "Mhm" she smiled "That's good" he smiled softly

Alice had heard phone ringing and saw that it was Bucky then answered "Hey dad" she answered "Hey, so the mission is gonna take a bit longer than expected so you Aunt Yelena is gonna come over" he spoke into the phone "Oh, ok" she said sadly "I'll only be gone for about a week" he said "Ok" she sighed "Bye, I love you" he said with a bit of reassurance "Love you" she hung up

Yelena walked through the front door and walked to Alice's room "Alice?" she looked into the room "Hi" Alice looked up "Did anything happen before I got here?" she asked "I probably broke something" Alice smiled innocently "Ok" Yelena sat on the bed
