As the Hogwarts Express chugged its way toward the castle, Ivy couldn't contain her excitement for the start of her second year. The compartment doors rattled as she moved through the train, searching for Theodore Nott. After a few moments, she spotted him in a compartment near the back, in conversation with Daphne Greengrass.

- Hey, Theo! Mind if I join you guys? - Ivy called out, stepping into the compartment.

Theodore looked up, a smile brightening his features.

- Sure, no problem!

Ivy settled in beside Theodore and Daphne as the train continued its journey. The trio chatted about their summer adventures and eagerly speculated about the upcoming school year. The familiar landscape outside the window blurred past as Hogwarts drew nearer.

Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Ivy, Theodore, and Daphne joined the other students in the Great Hall for the Sorting Hat ceremony and the welcoming speeches. The atmosphere was electric with anticipation, and Ivy couldn't help but feel a surge of pride as the Sorting Hat placed new students into their respective houses.

During the festive banquet that followed, Hermione approached Ivy with a concerned expression.

- Have you seen Ron and Harry? I didn't see them on the train or during the ceremony.

- Oh, you know those two. Always finding trouble or getting lost. They'll turn up eventually.

- I just have a bad feeling. It's not like them to be so late. I hope they're all right.

- They're probably off exploring somewhere. You know how they are. I'm sure they'll be here for breakfast tomorrow. - Ivy reassured her

The second-year students filed into Gilderoy Lockhart's Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom with a mixture of excitement and curiosity. Ivy found a seat near the middle of the room, wondering what "extraordinary" tales the renowned wizard might share.

As Lockhart made a grand entrance, regaling the class with tales of his magical exploits and dazzling achievements, Ivy couldn't help but roll her eyes. She exchanged an amused glance with Theo, who shared her scepticism about the professor.

- Today, class, we'll be dealing with a particularly troublesome magical creature: Cornish Pixies! - Lockhart announced with a theatrical demeanour - Now, be warned. I must teach them how to defend themselves against the most infamous creatures known in the world of magic. You may find yourselves facing your worst fears in this room. Know that no harm can come to you as long as I am here. I must ask you not to shout. Screaming provokes them.

In the next second, Lockhart opened, the cage, releasing a swarm of tiny, mischievous pixies into the classroom. The once orderly lesson quickly descended into chaos as the pixies zoomed around, causing havoc and mischief.

Ivy watched in amusement as her classmates struggled to control the unruly creatures. Lockhart, included.

- This is absurd. Does he even know how to handle these creatures? - Theodore whispered to Ivy

Ivy nodded, her attention focused on the pixies that were now circling her desk. Without warning, the tiny creatures descended, creating a whirlwind of chaos around Ivy.

- Ivy, duck! - a familiar voice cut through the chaos.

It was Harry, who had apparently decided to take matters into his own hands. With a swift and practised motion, he swings a book around, making the little demons go away.

- Thanks, Harry. That was getting out of hand.

- No problem.

- Immobulus.
