BAKUGO'S POV

"Great meeting everyone," my boss said after we had each given our final thoughts. "We will meet again in two days to discuss the quarter-term finances. I am eager to see where we stand. Good job, everyone. Bakugo, can you hang around for a bit?"

Shit, what now? My kids napped the entire meeting this time. "Sure thing," I said, trying to think of what may have caused him to ask me to stay.

Once everyone was logged out of the meeting, he looked at me with an expression I couldn't quite read. "I just wanted to ask how the nanny search was going. I didn't hear the kids today. I have to say I'm impressed."

Nodding my head, I said, "They are napping at the moment. I finished the interviews. I took my time on the decision-making part. I wanted to be sure I was choosing the right person for the job. I am calling today with the job offer when we are done here." I hope that is to his satisfaction.

It must be as he smiles at me. "That's great to hear. I am glad the time I gave you to handle the situation paid off. I understand the importance of finding the right candidate. Also, I hope things are smoother here on out for you and your kids."

"Thank you, sir, that means a lot," I said just as Kimi started crying. I sighed. "Well, I have been summoned." At least she waited for our mid-day meeting to be over.

He smiled at me. "Yes, go take care of what you need to, and then call that nanny."

"Will do, sir." He logged off without warning. I closed my laptop before rushing to my daughter's room. I picked her up from her bed and took her to the changing table. "Let's get you cleaned up, baby girl."

Once she was cleaned up and had a bottle. Masao woke up wanting a snack. I got both my kids settled in with food and drink. Masao is now watching his favorite show, and Kimi plays in her bouncer. I made the call to Camie this morning. She sounded more disappointed when I told her we couldn't go on a date than when I told her she didn't get the job.

I need to make this phone call before Hanko and Kenzo get home from school. I wanted to have it done before now. It has been two whole days since the interviews. I grabbed my phone and dialed Midoriya's number, hoping he would answer.

"Hello?" His soft voice came through the speaker of my phone.

I wanted to keep this as business as possible. "May I speak to Mr. Midoriya, please?" I didn't have to wait long for his reply.

"This is him."

Taking a breath, I said, "Hello, this is Katsuki Bakugo. I am calling you concerning the interview we had on Tuesday." I gave him time to respond.

He took a minute. "Yes, I was expecting your call." He sounds a mix of nerves and excitement.

I believe he is the most qualified of the two applicants, so here goes nothing. "After careful consideration, I believe you are the best person for the job." Giving him another chance to respond.

There was a sound of disappointment in his voice, followed by disbelief. I think he thought I said he didn't get the job, or maybe that is what he was expecting. "Oh, I understand...wait, what? I got the job?"

A small smile came to my face as he realized what I said. "You got the job; you start on Monday. You can start moving in today and meet the kids or tomorrow it's up to you."

"Wow, thank you. I don't know what to say. I can be there later today. I can't wait to meet Hanako and Kenzo."

I was looking forward to getting through a day of work without the kids screaming and crying during my meetings and having time to get work done. "Great, see you when you get here." Ending the call, I didn't have much longer till Hanako and Kenzo got home from school.
