Chapter Thirty-Two
Are We Really In The Right Universe?

*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*

The Doctor and Emma made a stop in London, Emma really wanted to see her Aunt Jackie just to make sure the reality of the other world wasn't the reality of this world. Obviously, it wasn't and Jackie could barely peel Emma or Rose off of her for more than a minute at a time for almost an hour. Afterward, Emma said goodbye to Rose and Mickey and left them safe and sound where they belonged. At home. Then like the Doctor promised, he took Emma to see her dads before their next hopefully less life-threatening adventure.

"Alright, Em. We're here," the Doctor announced as the whirring of the TARDIS's engine died down. "I just want to check on her wires. You go ahead, won't be a tick."

Emma nodded before grinning and running down the ramp and swinging the TARDIS's door open. It shut closed behind her and she spun in a slow circle to just appreciate the sight and smell of the bunker. Back home with her dads and uncle. All she wanted to do now was hug them.

"Hands in the air. Get on your knees."

But suddenly, every thought disappeared as Emma tensed. She turned around slowly at the voice before coming face to face with a blonde woman. Someone who Emma thought was left back in the other world. And anyway, wasn't she dead in both that world and in this one?

"Uh, Doctor?" Emma called her boyfriend.

"Just one more second!" he called back.

The door to the TARDIS opened again and the Doctor came out grinning. "Perfectly fine, she is. Still brilliant as ever. Right, so where are your-"

"Who are you people?" the woman in front of them demanded. "What is that thing? How did it just appear like that?"

"Oh, dear," the Doctor muttered.

"But we're still in the same universe, aren't we?" Emma asked, sparing the Doctor a glance.

"Oh, yeah," he nodded.

"How is this possible then?"

"No idea."

"Stop talking! Who the hell are you?" the woman raised the gun in her hands.

Emma blinked completely unphased while the Doctor at least humored her and stuck his hands up in the air as a surrender. Emma stepped in front of him to make sure to shield the Doctor in case the woman got trigger-happy.

"Hands now!"

Emma raised only one hand, her fingers itching to twist and silence the woman. Maybe even take her gun and keep her fixed to where she was standing. If this wasn't the other world and this was indeed their world, that meant there were very few explanations as to who this person really was. Shapeshifter? Demon? Trickster? Just an angel having fun?

"Whoa! Whoa!" Emma turned her head to the side. "Emma?" Dean stared at his daughter in surprise, not expecting her to unexpectedly come home today of all days. He was happy though as he quickly stepped in the middle to prevent any accidents from happening. "She's not a threat, okay? I'll explain everything, I promise."

Emma didn't care, she rushed into Dean's arms because suddenly her emotions of really wanting to hug her dad and make sure he was real overwhelmed her. Traveling to alternate universes wasn't fun. She'd rather stick to this universe and this universe alone. At least then she knew her family was okay and where they were supposed to be.

"Everything okay, butterfly?" Dean asked, sensing something wrong even in this kind of a situation.

"I just missed you a lot," Emma confessed.
