"Look, it's the freak fucker."

Your steps falter slightly at the words, knowing they're aimed at you. You're on your way to the activity room as it's that time of the day again and just so happened to walk past two guards on the way there. It's only you three in the hallway so it's obvious they're talking about you especially as their gazes linger distastefully on you.

"She must be good to have all those monsters wrapped around her finger." The other guard chuckles as he nudges his pal. It's obvious the two of them don't care about you overhearing them. "Should we find out?"

The question makes you pick up speed, wanting to get to the activity room as quickly as possible to avoid any unwanted situations. You manage to swing the door open and enter the room, but the two guards push at the door before you can get it fully closed.

Backing up, your gaze flickers between the two of them. Neither one of them looks familiar to you. You, however, are obviously familiar to them. Have they been watching you? Are other guards talking about you? Whatever it is, they somehow know about you and you're not safe because of it.

"What do you want?" You try to stay brave, giving them a hard glare as if daring them to come any closer.

They laugh at you, finding the glare pathetic and amusing. "We just want to see what all the fuss is about. See if what everyone is saying is true."

They both move closer, forcing you back until you're pinned to the wall with nowhere to go. Your hands clench at your sides, your anger and anxiety both spiking from the situation. "I'd appreciate it if you left me alone. I have work to do."

"Oh?" The guard that first pointed you out scoffs. "Are you sure that 'work' isn't just you getting railed by some psycho? Why don't you try someone normal, eh?"

His suggestion almost makes you gag. Normal? Normal people don't do what they're doing. Even your patients who are considered the most dangerous people in the entire building haven't done anything remotely close to what they're doing. That says a lot, doesn't it? Even 'normal' people are capable of committing horrendous acts yet they're the ones trusted by society because they just so happen to hide it better than others.

"Maybe she just needs some help loosening up." The second guard steps even closer, his hands reaching towards you.

It feels almost as if everything moves in slow motion after that.

The door swings open with incredible force, Thomas standing there breathing heavily as he glares at the two guards standing in front of you. Bubba stands just behind Thomas, looking equally as pissed which is surprising but you can tell he's more worried from his squeals.

You watch with wide eyes as Thomas charges forward, an intense rage in his eyes as he grabs the closest guard to him by the neck. The other guard pulls out his baton with a shaky hand as he yells at Thomas to drop the other man. While this is happening, Bubba quickly scurries into the room where he instantly heads towards you, pulling you into a tight embrace as he pats your hair in reassurance.

Feeling slightly terrified, you bury your face in Bubba's chest, not wanting to watch what's going on. You can hear the first guard choking while the other keeps yelling at Thomas to drop him. A sudden 'crack' echoes in the silence making you flinch, burying your face deeper into Bubba's chest as you try your best not to panic.

The thump of a body hitting the ground follows shortly after the cracking sound and you know that Thomas just killed the guard despite how much you want to deny it. There's a deep grunt as the remaining guard jams his baton into Thomas' side in attempts to subdue him but the burly man tanks the electricity with no problem. It's likely that he's far too pissed for the pain to register.

It seems that the guard knows it's pointless as he drops the baton and makes a dash towards the still open door. He doesn't make it far before he's forced to the ground where Thomas keeps him pinned as he presses the discarded baton into his neck, sending high pulses of electricity into the man. His body jerks and writhes, foam coming from his lips from the shocks pulsing through his body continuously. It isn't until he's dead that Thomas finally pulls the baton away and tosses it across the room.

He turns to approach you only to be forced to stop as numerous guards flood into the room. With his eyes glued to you, he raises his hands and allows the guards to shove him to his knees before cuffing him. Other guards move towards you and Bubba, ripping the crying man away from you before cuffing him as well.

You keep your eyes tightly closed, not wanting to see the aftermath of Thomas' rage. Hearing it was bad enough. Seeing it would only make you feel worse. You know he did it to protect you, but you hate the thought of someone getting killed because of you. If you were able to protect yourself, Thomas wouldn't have had to interfere.

"You're okay. I've got you." You recognize Chris' voice instantly, subconsciously moving closer to him just a smidge before you feel his arm wrap around your shoulders. You've never really felt comfortable around him before but right now you just need the comfort of someone at least a tiny bit sane.

Chris carefully leads you out of the room, guiding you past the dead bodies and into the hallway where two others guards are just waking from being knocked unconscious by Thomas. Apparently when he heard you being harassed he broke free of his cuffs and knocked them out so they wouldn't get in his way. You're just glad they weren't unfortunate enough to die as well. The last thing you need is to have two more people's deaths on your hands.

Once out of the hallway you allow your eyes to flicker open, finding yourself to be heading back towards your room. As you reach the door Chris uses the card attached to your scrubs to unlock it before leading you inside where he carefully helps you sit down on your bed.

Once he's certain you're not going to suddenly fall over he backs away to give you space. "Do you want me to go get Jackson?" He knows you're uncomfortable around him which is why he offered to get Jackson for you. You'd probably feel anything but comforted by him which isn't something he wants.

You hesitate before shaking your head. Honestly, you just want to be alone for a while. What was supposed to be a nice day with two of your boys was now a nightmare you wanted to forget. Having someone there trying to comfort you would only keep the memories and thoughts in your mind.

"If you need anything just let me know." He gives you a small pitying smile before exiting your room and shutting the door behind him.

Sighing, you lay down, staring blankly up at the ceiling. Despite wanting to forget what happened, the sounds keep echoing in your head. The cracking of his neck. His body hitting the ground. The other guard choking and twitching as he was electrocuted.

And what makes it worse is knowing it was all your fault. You don't deserve to forget. Not when you might as well have killed them with your own two hands.
