Taylor's POV

I moped on the couch an sulked in Karlies arms all day while Selena went to get the kids.

"I can't believe I forgot about their first day, that's the one day I didn't want to miss," I said.

"Taylor your stressed out, they'll forgive you," Karlie said.

"Are you sure, I mean James might, but Harley might not," I said.

"Mommy!!" I heard at the doors, it was Harley, she ran into my arms while James ran into Karlies.

"Hey babe," I said hugging her.

"How was school guys?" Karlie asked.

"Guess what?!" James asked.

"What's up kiddo?" I said.

"Bentley is in my class!" James said.

"Really JJ that's awesome!" I said high fiving him.

"What about you miss Harley what did you learn in the great lives of a 4 th grader?" I asked her.

"So much! We learned about 3 digits multiple! And how gravity works!" She said happily.

"So you guys like school I take it?" I asked.

"Yes!" They both said.

"Well hey hey hey my siblings," I heard and it was Julian.

"Lian! Maddison! Bentley is in my class!" James said.

"That's awesome kiddo, Harley you seem happy? You had a good day?" Julian asked and she nodded.

"That's great!" Julian said.

"Maddi and I are gonna head out I'll be back in a bit, Uhm do you need me to get started on dinner when I come back?" Julian asked.

"Don't you worry about dinner, I'll do it," Selena says and Julian and Maddison left.

The kids ran upstairs to Harleys room.

"See I told you they were going to be just fine,"Karlie said.

"I know Karl's, I know," I said and leaned into her.

We ate dinner and the kids got ready. James and Julian were in bed and Selena was upstairs. I heard little footsteps.

"Mom?" I heard. I turn to see Harley in the corner.

"Hey peanut," I said and Karlie picked her up over the couch and put her between us.

"So you had a good day?" I asked.

"So fun! I can't wait for tomorrow," she said.

"That's good bug, I'm glad you like school," Karlie said as she leaned into her.

"You're going to get better, right mommy?" Harley asked me. Tears built in my eyes.

"I promise, I'm going to get better, very soon," I kissed her forehead. She closed her eyes and snuggled into Karlie.

"How can I be separated from that? I just can't she's so cute?!" I said and Karlie hugged me and we decided she'd sleep with us here.

The next morning I was awake alongside Julian , who already picked up Maddison because they were hanging out today.

"Alright, I'm the car we gotta go to school," I said and the kids nodded.

"Say goodbye to your Mom," I said and they ran back and hugged Karlie.

"Bye James, Bye Harls, I'll see you guys later," Julian said.

Julian's POV

I went downstairs to the movie room with Maddison and we turned on a movie.

Karlies POV

Selena had to go to the studio and it was just me and Taylor on the couch.

"So, have you heard from Joe?" I asked.

"No, just him liking the Instagram of the kids, but nothing else, no calls no nothing," Taylor said.

"I'm sorry Taylor, he's been such an awful dad since you broke up huh?" I asked.

"I wouldn't say awful, but not great? Like the boys dad have been around more, and Harley still can't trust him," Taylor explained.

"Harley doesn't need a dad if she had the best mom right here," I said and Taylor leaned into me.

"I love you Karlie, I'm so glad I chose you," Taylor said and she kissed my cheek.

"Next week's thanksgiving, whose coming?" I asked.

"I was gonna do a big party, but honestly, just gonna have Mom, Dad, Austin, your mom and sisters, Harry, Ed, Gigi, Bella, Blake, Ryan, and Sabrina, and Selena, I don't know how Harley will react," Taylor explained.

"I'm sure she'll be fine it's all of her favorite people anyways, she will be happy to see Gigi," I said.

"Oh god yeah she loves that girl to death," Taylor said.

"She would die for another sleepover at her house," I said.

As we settled back into the comfort of each other's arms, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the moments of peace and connection we shared amidst the chaos of life. And as we looked ahead to the future, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together, as a family—bound by love, resilience, and the unbreakable bond that held us together.
