Taylor's POV
As Christmas approached, Karlie and I decided it was time to start a new tradition with our family. With Harley, Julian, and James by our side, we set out to find the perfect Christmas tree.
"This one is too tall!" Harley exclaimed, pointing to a towering fir that reached the ceiling of the lot.
"Yeah, we don't need a tree that big, Harley." Julian chuckled.
Karlie wrapped an arm around me, a smile playing on her lips.
"What about this one, Tay?" she asked
She then gesturing to a medium-sized tree with lush green branches.
I nodded in agreement.
"It's perfect babe," I said.
Just as we were about to make our selection, Karlie's phone rang, interrupting our moment of holiday cheer. She answered it with a curious expression, her brow furrowing as she listened intently to the caller on the other end.
"Hello? Yes, this is she," Karlie said, her voice tinged with excitement.
I watched as her eyes widened in surprise, her lips curling into a grin.
"That's fantastic news! Thank you so much for letting us know." Karlie cheered silently and looked to me.
Ending the call, Karlie turned to me with a gleam in her eyes she whispered into my ear.
"Taylor, you won't believe it. We can finalize the adoption for Harley, just in time for Christmas!" Karlie whispered in my ear.
My heart swelled with joy at the news, tears of happiness pricking at my eyes.
"Oh Karlie, that's incredible! What a perfect Christmas gift for our family." I said.
Karlie wrapped her arms around me, pressing a tender kiss to my cheek.
"Merry Christmas, Taylor. Our family is finally complete." Karlie said and I kissed her back.
As we stood amidst the rows of Christmas trees, the chilly air tinged with the scent of pine, I couldn't help but feel overcome with gratitude. With Karlie by my side and our children in our arms, I knew that this Christmas would be one to remember—a celebration of love, acceptance, and the bonds that hold us together as a family.
~Christmas~
Karlie's POV
As Christmas dinner came to an end, our family gathered around the cozy living room, nestled together on the couches and armchairs. Taylor's family, my family, and our own little brood—Taylor, James, and Harley, Julian was stuck in the snow at college, but we were all together under one roof.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and James jumped up to answer it. I watched as our son Julian has returned, his face beaming with excitement, accompanied by his girlfriend Maddison. She was a vision of warmth and kindness, her eyes sparkling with the same joy that filled our home.
"Surprise!" Julian announced, wrapping his arm around Maddison's waist.
"I couldn't stay away for Christmas, and I wanted you all to meet Maddison, Family my girlfriend Maddison, Maddi this is my massive family." Julian laughs as he sees all his family sitting beside in the living room.
The room erupted into cheers and hugs as we welcomed Maddison into our family with open arms. Taylor's mom and dad enveloped her in a tight embrace, while my mom and sister exchanged smiles of approval.
After the excitement of Julian's surprise visit settled, we gathered around the Christmas tree to exchange gifts. Harley's eyes shone with excitement as she tore into her presents, her laughter filling the room.
And the excitement of Christmas gifts continued to filled the room, it was down to Harley and one more special present. She eagerly tore open the envelope, her eyes widening in surprise as she pulled out the official adoption papers.
"Harley Marie Marjorie Swift Alwyn Kloss," she read aloud, her voice filled with wonder.
Harley's brow furrowed in confusion.
"Wait a minute but... why Alwyn Kloss?" Harley asked.
Taylor smiled tenderly, reaching out to take Harley's hand.
"Sweetheart, I wanted to make sure you kept one of your favorite parts of you, your dad, I know how much he loves you and would want this too," Taylor said.
Harley's eyes brimmed with tears as she looked up at Taylor and I, her heart overflowing with love and gratitude.
"Thank you, Mama," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. Finally.
Taylor pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her close.
"I love you, Harley. You will always be a part of our family, no matter what name you go by your mom and I and your brothers love you so much." Taylor said.
With tears of joy streaming down her cheeks, Harley nodded, her heart swelling with happiness and love we all hugged in a group hug tightly.
"Love you mom," she said to me.
Finally, it was down to one last gift, a small red velvet box that I had hidden in my pocket. My heart pounded with nervous anticipation as I took it out, glancing over at Taylor, whose eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Taylor," I began, my voice trembling with emotion.
"I know it's early, but I couldn't wait any longer. I want to make it official." I said.
With trembling hands, I opened the box to reveal a stunning diamond ring, glistening in the soft glow of the Christmas lights. Taylor gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in surprise.
"Karlie, oh my God," she whispered, tears brimming in her eyes.
I took her hand in mine, my heart overflowing with love.
"Taylor Allison Swift, will you marry me?" I asked.
Tears streamed down Taylor's cheeks as she nodded, her voice choked with emotion.
"Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!" She squealed.
The room erupted into cheers and applause as I slipped the ring onto Taylor's finger, sealing our love and commitment in the most beautiful way possible.
As we embraced, surrounded by the love and warmth of our family, I knew that this Christmas would forever hold a special place in our hearts—a celebration of love, family, and the promise of a future filled with endless possibilities.
