In Which He Gets Free Coffee
He meant to visit earlier, but then he realized that the person might not have had time to pick it up. So he waited. He headed to the café in the afternoon, after his afternoon class. He tugged on his beanie and brought his textbooks closer to him.
He opened the door to the packed café to be greeted by the smell of the famous chocolate chip cookie and fresh brewed coffee. He waited in line, the jam packed, rush hour line. It felt like hours passed before he was finally able place his order.
He got his regular order, a medium black coffee and a chocolate chip cookie, and asked the barista working about the blue notebook he returned. When he heard that the notebook was claimed but then returned again, he looked at the barista as if he had two heads instead of one. Then when he got the now found notebook, it was as if the barista grew a third head.
He took a seat by the door and started to flip through the notebook, wondering why she had returned it again. He noticed that the pages with her notes were missing and all that remained was their doodle and her note.
Hey thanks for returning my notebook to me. I'm guessing you're a student at Hawthorne U too, meaning its mid-terms time. What I'm getting at is I want to thank you, and I know it's not much, but ask the barista for a coffee from Liv. It's the least I can do for you returning my notebook.
Deciding to not look a gift horse in the mouth,he waited until the line was shorter before claiming he free cup of coffee. But before he did, he wanted to thank Liv. So he did what she did, he wrote her a note.
