"Where's your parents?"
Wonbin asked me.

➤ I was silent for a moment and said:

"Work."
I said to Wonbin.

"Work? During your sister's birthday?"
Wonbin asked me.

"It's a long story."
I said to Wonbin.

➤ Wonbin nodded.

"Looks like we both have secrets?"
I asked Wonbin.

➤ Wonbin nodded slowly. I continued to focus on the dishes until Wonbin said something.

"I can tell you my secrets."
Wonbin said to me.

[ MIN'S POV ]

"You will tell me your secrets?"
I asked Wonbin.

➤ Wonbin nodded.

"But can I trust you to not tell anyone?"
Wonbin asked me.

"You can trust me."
I said to Wonbin.

[ TIME SKIPS ]

➤ The party was over and everyone had left. I put Minhui to bed but she insisted on staying up to talk to me but I told her she had school tomorrow so she just went to bed. I tucked her inside her bed and went back downstairs.

➤ Wonbin was still here sitting in the living room.

"I'm ready to know."
I said sitting next to Wonbin on the couch.

➤ Wonbin nodded.

[ TIME SKIPS ]

➤ Wonbin told me about his whole life and I was completely dumbfounded. His life was so sad that I just wanted to hug him.

"So you've been adopted ever since you were 8 years old because your parents couldn't cope with your behavior?"
I asked Wonbin.

➤ Wonbin nodded.

"And the guy at the cafe we saw that day was my old friend Sohee, when we were in elementary school, he witnessed my dad ab*sing me and told everyone in school that I was being ab*sed by my dad."
Wonbin said to me.

"That's terrible, why did he do that?"
I asked Wonbin.

"He told me he tried to help me but he made it even worse."
Wonbin said to me.

"Is that why it's hard for you to trust people?"
I asked Wonbin.

➤ Wonbin nodded.

"Wow Wonbin-ah, I'm so sorry you have to go through that everyday, I want to help you."
I said to Wonbin.

"I don't need help."
Wonbin said to me.

"My uncle is a very good therapist, I can ask him to help you-"
I said to Wonbin but he cut me off.

"I already told you I don't need any help."
Wonbin said to me.
