Alex had noticed in his recent calls with Nana she sounded worse until one day he got word from the hospital she was on her last legs. It was her birthday, January 14th. She was turning 98. He entered the room, and sat down next her.
"Hi Alex"
"Hi Nana"
"I'm dying, my turtle" said Nana
"Please don't die Nana"
"That's not a promise, I can make, I love you forever, and you'll always be in my heart" said Nana.
"They are not letting Stevenson run again, what should I do"
"Run for president, stop the Trumpists" said Nana. b
"I love you"
"I love you too"
And two days later Nana died.
At her funeral, Alex was the speaker delivering her eulogy he said:
"Nana, was a wonderful woman, a kind, respectful, smart woman. I loved her with every fiber of my being. I have trouble living, knowing she is not there. However I will follow her last wish and run for president of the United States"
