Alex was doing paperwork in his office. Presiding over the house was hard and doing it while running for president is even harder.
He hasn't checked the news in a while, he assumes nothing when his phone buzzes. It keeps buzzing, buzzing so rapidly it gets annoying.
Suddenly his phone rings
"Hello" he says
"This is Walter, your secretary"
"What is it?" asks Alex
"Matt Gaetz has been assassinated"
Alex drops the pen in shock and a look of horror comes over his face. Sure he hated Matt Gaetz but he'd never wish death on anyone save Putin and Xi Jinping.
Alex says "Put out a statement of condolences, remind people Poltical violence is not acceptable"
Alex continues "what happened?"
"A communist named Charles Marx shot him at a campaign speech in West Virginia, he was asked why he did it and responded that he couldn't stand the stupidity coming out of his mouth" says Walter
Alex was saddened by the news, he told his staff to up security and attended Matt Gaetz's Funeral.
