Joel's Perspective-

Joel sighed as stared out his window.

His parents were arguing downstairs about the new rumors.

"Spy! A spy! We let a spy into our kingdom!" His father shouted.

Joel looked at The Mythlands, wondering how much was true.

He was acting weird, so it makes sense.  At least...it seems like it does.

"You keep staring out that window like you have a purpose or something." Maggie said and Joel rolled his eyes, turning to his sister.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"Jeez, chill, I was just wondering what you were doing."

"I'm looking out the window."

Maggie rolled her eyes, "I see that, dummy."

"Then you know what I'm doing."

Maggie rolled her eyes again and Joel smiled at her.

"Mom and dad are arguing about the spy kid." She said.

"Yeah, I can hear."

"Do you believe it?"

"I don't know. Sausage was going to tell me something about him and he got cut off and Etho says he's been on adventures. It makes sense."

"Yet it doesn't."

"Exactly..." Joel nodded.

"It's just...I don't think Sausage would try and hide a spy."

"The Mythlands is mysterious."

They stood in silence until Joel sighed.

"That's it, I'm going over there."

"What? How? Mom and dad will kill you if you miss your lesson today."

"They won't notice I'm gone. And don't rat on me."

Joel looked out his window and saw a tiny pond around some moss.

He took a deep breath and before Maggie could stop him, he jumped out.

"JOEL!" Maggie shouted, trying to grab her brother.

Joel hit the pond and smiled at Maggie, waving towards her before motioning for her to keep quiet.

He got out of the water and shook some of the water off before running towards The Mythlands.

Etho's Perspective-

Etho stayed shut up in his room and Xoni tried to ask him to forgive him.

"I didn't think this would happen, but with all of this war stuff going on, people are- "

"On edge. I get it." Etho said bitterly, "Just drag me out of my life and force me into here."

"It was for- "

"For my safety? I can protect myself."

Xoni sighed.

"Your parents would've- "

"No, they wouldn't! They would want me to live my life how I want!"

"You don't want to go back there; the king is dangerous."

"But here is dangerous too! Everyone hates me and wants me dead."

Xoni sighed and a guard knocked on the door.

Xoni opened it and the guard cleared his throat.

"The prince of Mezalea is here. He's requesting to speak to Prince Etho."

Etho growled, "Don't call me that. And no, tell him he'd have to try harder to get my head."

"He won't try and kill you." The guard said sternly.

"How do you know?" Etho snapped.

"I'll be in the room too, he won't."

"I can protect myself, and tell him no."

The guard sighed and nodded before leaving.

"I'll go talk to the prince; you stay here." Xoni said and left.

Etho rolled his eyes.

A couple minutes later, the door opened again and there was the spoiled prince who had the festival.

"What." Etho snapped.

"I just wanted to ask you some questions. I don't know how to fight, so I can't hurt you." Joel said.

Etho sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Fine, what do you wanna know? About how I'm a spy and am trying to steal your gold?" Etho said in a sarcastic tone.

"Er- no...I wanna know why you're really here."

Etho turned to Joel and raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know whether or not you're a spy, and I won't tell anyone what you tell me, but I just want to know what your real purpose is."

Etho chuckled, "Purpose? I still don't know what's the purpose of why I was born, but I do know why I'm here."

"And that's all I wanna know."

Etho looked Joel up and down, narrowing his eyes.

Joel gulped.

"I just want to know." He whispered.
