Bucky had been on a mission for the past two weeks and Y/n had missed him terribly. She had been looking forward to his return and had planned a romantic dinner for the two of them. However, her day had been filled with one disaster after another. She had spilled coffee all over her white shirt, got stuck in traffic for hours, and got chewed out by her boss for a mistake she didn't even make.

She couldn't hold it in any longer and had rushed to the bathroom as soon as she got home. She didn't even bother turning on the lights, knowing that the darkness would offer her some solace. But the tears wouldn't stop. They just kept flowing and she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed and alone.

But then, she heard a knock on the bathroom door. She tried to muffled her sobs, not wanting anyone to see her in such a vulnerable state. But the door opened slowly and she couldn't help but let out a small gasp when she saw Bucky's worried face.

Without a word, he walked over to her and knelt down next to her, his arms automatically wrapping around her shaking figure. Y/n buried her face into his chest, unable to stop her tears.

Bucky didn't say anything, he just held her tightly, letting her cry it out. He knew that sometimes, all she needed was someone to be there for her, and that's what he did. He stayed by her side, gently stroking her hair, until she slowly started to calm down.

'I'm sorry,' Y/n sniffed, pulling away from Bucky's embrace and wiping her tears away with the back of her hand.

'Don't be sorry, sweetheart. You have nothing to apologize for,' Bucky said softly, cupping her face in his hands and making her look into his eyes.

Y/n couldn't help but feel comforted by his words and his touch. She leaned into him again, feeling safe and loved in his arms. Bucky pulled her onto his lap and held her close, whispering soothing words and kissing the top of her head.

They sat there in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company. Y/n was grateful for Bucky's presence and the way he made her feel. She couldn't imagine going through moments like these without him by her side.

'Thank you,' Y/n finally spoke, breaking the silence.

'Anything for you, Y/n,' Bucky replied, brushing away a stray tear from her cheek.

They stayed in the bathroom for a little while longer, until Y/n's tears stopped and she was able to calm down completely. Bucky then helped her up and walked her to their bedroom. He tucked her into bed, making sure she was comfortable before lying down next to her.

'Are you feeling any better?' Bucky asked, pulling Y/n closer to him and wrapping his arms around her.

Y/n let out a small sigh and nodded, 'Yes, thanks to you.'

Bucky smiled and kissed her forehead, 'I'll always be here for you, Y/n. No matter what.'

Y/n smiled back, feeling grateful for the love and support of her boyfriend. She snuggled into him and closed her eyes, feeling safe and loved in his arms. She fell asleep with a small smile on her face, knowing that she was lucky to have Bucky Barns by her side.
