Location: The far edge of the Great Grass Plains, on the planet Naboo

"It's never going to stop! Is it?"
Yaqeel thought to herself as she still held the lifeless body of Padawan Josat, and watched as Malgus cut his way closer and closer to Luke Skywalker.

"He's just going to keep destroying and scheming, till there's nothing left!"

The idea, fuelled the rage that had already been building inside her since birth. She had been so careful to keep it contained; to never allow it to coalesce around any potential catalyst.

She couldn't hold back the flood of dark anymore!

Slowly, she rose to her feet, gently resting Josat's lifeless body back to the ground.
Menacingly, she stalked toward Malgus.
At that moment, he was so consumed by his compulsion to kill Luke, that he was unaware of her presence.

"I'm going to make him pay! I'm going to make him suffer... I'm going to make him pay! I'm going to make him suffer!..."
Was the Mantra that ran in a continuous loop inside her head.
Her advance was halted by... Something
A disturbance!

Not a disturbance felt with the aid of the force, but rather, through the aid of her native Bothan instinct.

She could feel someone's eyes on her back.
With the grace of a Varactyl, she spun around, sabre ready to catch any incoming threat...

There was no threat...
Only a pair of kind eyes looking back at her: The force presence of the fallen Jedi knight Bazel Warv (Barv) stood between the bodies of Dena and Josat.

True to Barv's nature, the force apparition didn't try to reach her with bombastic gestures or eloquent speech. He simply wore an expression upon his face that made her want to be better. Never out of guilt! Not out of shame! Rather, Barv's acceptance of her, the good with the bad, impelled her to reward that acceptance by being the best possible version of herself.

Once again, she had been pulled back from the brink by Barv; By the force.

And like a flash of starlight, the truth was revealed:

Mara. The lightning barrier. Barv...

It was all the force! This time, the stakes were too high! the force was not content to merely shepherd events with subtle nudges and abstract signs.
The force was fighting back, like its very existence was on the line because... It was.

Malgus's lust for Conflict would eventually devour everything... The Force... All life... Everything!
If the Balance was destroyed, so was the galaxy's only hope!

She glanced back at Malgus one last time. She had him in her grasp! She could strike him down this moment. There was also the possibility that she had only deluded herself into thinking that she was cable of killing someone so powerful. Whatever the case, she knew it was not her destiny. Even if she could kill him, she couldn't risk it. She had been tainted by the Darkside! If she struck him down in anger, she would forever be lost in darkness.

So, she ran toward the light; toward Barv. She reached up to his massive glowing face, and standing on her tippy toes, she gave him a gentle kiss on his cheek; tried to anyways. She only kissed the air. Barv looked down at her with nothing but love and admiration in his expression.
