Chapter 26
Hale
"Ayaw mo talaga sumama sa Mapúa? O di naman kaya sa La Salle man lang?" Tanong ulit ni Zac. Ano ba naman paulit-ulit eh?
"No. I don't want to go. It's too crowded and you'll just invite me to countless parties so no. I won't come. Besides I've already enrolled in SLU." I replied as he sighed.
"It's given that you don't like parties but who'll be with here with you?" Jax said as I mentally rolled my eyes.
"Stop treating me like a kid. I'll be fine on my own." I sighed as they frowned.
"It's normal for us to worry about you, Liam. You're the youngest." Triveon said as I sighed.
"I'll be fine. Besides mas mature naman akong mag-isip kaysa sa inyo na may tama sa ulo." Kako at binatukan ako ni Zac.
"Doesn't matter if you're more mature. Mas matanda pa din kami, so it's our obligation to look after you since you don't have an older brother or sister to do so." Zac said.
"I'll be fine." Kako naman.
"Sure ka?" Tanong ulit ni Zac kaya napairap ako.
"One more fucking time you ask if he'll be fine. I swear to God, Zac. I'll think you have a crush on Liam." Jax uttered as Triveon burst out laughing.
"Tangina mong gangster ka. Hindi ba pwedeng nag-aalala lang?" Zac fired back as I sighed.
"Shut the fuck up with the gangster will you? Since when did you see a gangster that has blue eyes?" Jax hissed as I was just watching them bicker.
"Ngayon. Ikaw." Triveon pointed to him as he rolled his eyes.
"Fuck you, Zariel." Jax said and he smirked when Triveon's face crumpled.
"And who the fuck are you that you think you can call me Zariel huh, london boy?" Triveon said as Jax shrugged.
"Just Jax Ferrer." He said as Triveon rolled his eyes.
"Hale, daw." A classmate called me as I sighed.
"Why?" Tanong ko.
"Pinapatawag ka ni prof Faustino." He said as I stood up to go to the faculty.
"Bakit po?" Tanong ko noong nakita ko si prof Faustino.
"Ngayon yung Math quiz bee. Pupunta ka ba?" Tanong niya at tumango naman ako.
"Okay, can you look at the first year na nasa BSCE 1-A. I heard from a professor that she's almost the same level as you." He said as my brows furrowed. She? Almost? Since when did someone become the same level as me?
"Almost?" I asked as he chuckled.
"Yes, Zevilye. Almost better as you in terms of mathematics. You look for her, she's a new face and she'll probably come in second to you in the quiz bee." He said as I nodded and went out of the faculty room.
Huh? That pisses me off. Someone who's almost the same level as me in terms of intelligence? Since when the hell did someone be at the same level at me? Probably when with the boys but hell, it's quite a shame to my pride.
"Hale, diretso ka na daw sa auditorium para sa Math quiz bee." Sabi nung nakasalubong kong classmate ko at tumango naman ako bago nagtungo sa auditorium.
The test was as easy as I expected it to be. Didn't even break a sweat. When will I take something seriously?
After the test the papers were immediately checked and as expected my name was on the top list. Fifty out of fifty.
"Hale, congrats." A fourth year congratulated me as I smiled.
"Thanks." I replied as he smiled and tapped my shoulders before leaving.
I was also about to leave when I saw a name that was plastered just below mine.
Rodriguez, Aydien
Memories started flooding me as I looked at the name.
"Hi! Anong pangalan mo?" A jolly girl asked as I frowned. She's bright, too bright to look at but also warm.
"Liam Hale Khrylo Jaze Zevilye." I replied as her nose crunched.
"Bakit ang haba?" Tanong niya.
"I don't know either." Kako naman.
"Tawagin nalang kitang, Jaze!" She smiled brightly that it was almost too blinding.
"Ako nga pala si Aydien Danielle Rodriguez. Hindi mahaba gaya ng pangalan mo." She giggled as a smile unconsciously crept into my lips.
"Hello, Elle." I smiled as she smiled back.
"Laro tayo." She invited as I tilted my head.
"I'm not in the mood for playing." Sabi ko at ngumuso naman siya.
"Please?" She pouted. "Wala kase akong kalaro eh."
It feels too illegal to see someone as jolly as her to cry.
"What are we playing?" I asked as she showed me her dolls that made me grimace. God, I would prefer solving math equations but hell, I shouldn't make this girl cry.
We played until her Mom called her.
"Aydien! Maggagabi na!" I heard her Mom as she frowned.
"Bye, Hale!" She waved her hand as I smiled and waved back.
She's...... I don't know how ti describe her, and it was the first time I had no words to describe someone. She's different from everyone that says I'm intimidating. She's way too bright for anyone not to be blinded by her light. Blinding but it's also warming my soul. A heart and soul that's so pure, you can never find anyone else brighter.
I found myself looking for her and when I spotted her she was frowning at the scoreboard.
She looks more matured now. Black hair, pretty lips. A mole just beside her lips and on the bridge of her nose. Yep, confirmed it's Aydi.
I approached her and hell, she looks gorgeous as fuck.
"Hey, Aydien right?" I said as she looked at me.
"Yes?" She smiled brightly as I chuckled. The effects this girl has on me.
"I'm Hale Zevilye." I introduced and her smile dropped. Probably because of her pride.
"What year?" She asked as I smirked.
"2nd, why interested in me?" I asked as she also gave me a smirk.
"Baka?" She leaned towards me as I smiled. Fuck's sake, I hope my heartbeat is not beating that loud because I wouldn't want to be embarrassed in front of her.
She makes me to hella nervous and I really really really hope that she doesn't hear my heartbeat right now that's almost triple fast than a normal one.
