Me, Leon and a third agent named Duncan head into the abandoned looking cabin. Duncan goes first, his gun pointed up as Leon takes the other side of the door, meanwhile I stay back, watching behind us for any unwanted surprises. Duncan bursts through the wooden door, it slams against the wall, rattling the cabin and breaking the heavy silence. Like always, we split up and search the place, looking for any signs of life.

It seems like our Umbrella worker has whiffed us out and ran. I sigh, lowering my handgun as I meet back up with Leon in the main room.

"There's nothing unusual. If I weren't a trained professional, I'd say this place hasn't been lived in for a few months." Leon smoothly says, swiping his finger on the fireplace, showing me the dust collected there.

I shake my head, throwing him a smile. "Professional? Well Agent Kennedy," I tease, kneeling down at the warm fireplace, "I think you're losing your touch. Look here, it's recently been used. Wait, what's that?"

Leon crocuses beside me, our shoulders touching as he reaches out an arm and grabs a piece of paper slightly burnt at the back. The ashes fly up, causing me to sneeze. Leon murmurs a "bless you" as he smirks at me, then he holds the paper between us. "Looks like we've got an address, for...a hotel? It could be where our little friend is?"

I nod, about to comment, but a sudden thud from below us interrupts me. I look to Leon, who's already pulling out a knife. "You wanna investigate or should I?" He smiles, titling his head playfully. I place hand over my heart, feigning a swoon.

"Me? Nah, I'll let you handle this one." I nudge him with my shoulder. He sighs, muttering something under his breath as he stands and heads to the back of the cabin to find out the source of the noise. Meanwhile I'm rummaging around the fireplace still, eyes narrowing at another piece of paper. I grab it, scanning it for clues, but gasp when I see it's a correspondence between the Umbrella worker and our very own agent Duncan.

"Stay right there, and drop that letter." Duncan coldly orders from behind me, then something cold and hard is pointed at the side of my head. My brain short circuits at the gun pressed to me, so with shaky hands I drop the paper, watching as it flutters to the ground. "Good girl. Now slowly take off all your weapons, and slide them across the room. I won't hesitate to kill you if you try anything."

My breath comes short as I pull out my gun and slide it across the cabin, along with my two knives and taser. I keep the safety pin hidden in my hair, glad nobody knows about it. "You've been here before, haven't you? That's how you knew we should check this place out." I ask, trying to piece together the puzzle. Duncan huffs, suddenly grabbing a fistful of my hair. I yelp as he drags me across the room, shoving me to the hard floor with force. I catch myself, briefly hearing a scuffle in the back where Leon's dealing with whatever monstrosity he's found.

"How much do you underestimate Leon? You think whatever he's fighting will keep him busy for long?" I snort, getting to my knees and staring up at our traitor, "He'll kill it, then come in here and kick your ass next. I'd highly recommend getting that gun out of my face, because when he sees it," I let out a low whistle, "boy, you're in trouble."

Duncan stares at me, then begins to chuckle. In a flash the gun whacks me around the face, pain laces through my cheek as I wince, a weak yelp escaping me. I fall back, leaning on my elbows to sit up. My cheekbone throbs, my vision blurs with tears of pain. Footsteps capture both of our attentions, then Leon appears, jaw clenched and eyes murderous, some blood coats his jacket and hands.

"Get. The fuck. Away. From her." Leon deeply says, I've never heard such a lethal tone from him. Leon's eyes find mine, then they zero in on the bruise no doubt forming on my face. A dangerous laugh rises from his lips. "You've made a really fucking bad mistake there pal."

Duncan has the sense to look worried for a second, but then he switches off the safety as he steps closer to me, my life now hanging by a twitching finger. "Come any closer and I'll blow her brains out. Come on Leon, do you really want another meaningless death on your conscience?"

"I'm being really fucking calm with you, you bastard, but I'm telling you," Leon practically growls at this point, "If you don't move that gun away from her face only one of us will be walking out of here."

I swallow, watching the interaction. Leon doesn't look to me, doing everything he can to distract Duncan as I shakily reach into my hair and pull out the safety pin, then with a snake like speed I dart forward, stabbing the pin into Duncan's ankle. He yells, shooting the gun as I gasp. Leon moves into a action, throwing himself at Duncan then tackling him to the floor. Duncan throws a punch which Leon takes, but he doesn't even show it, Leon's too busy elbowing his stomach, then grabs his head, slamming it against the floor. Duncan slows, but Leon's not done. He kneels up, grabbing Duncan's collar, then throws a series of punches to his face until it's more blood than skin.

"Leon!" I shout, crawling over to him, but Leon doesn't listen. "LEON, YOU'LL KILL HIM!" I scream, grabbing Leon's shoulder. He drops Duncan's dead weight, then stands, punching the wall as he shouts. I quickly check that Duncan is breathing, then call for backup.

The cabin is filled with ragged breaths as I stare at Leon, the man unrecognisable and filled with a mix of anguish and rage. He's shaking, wiping his hair away from his face and leading a streak of blood across his cheek. "Are you okay?" I whisper.

Leon chuckles darkly, eyes pinned to mine. "Fucking fantastic." He sarcastically replies, but his face falls when his eyes once again catch on my bruise. He comes over to me, holding a hand out for me to take, then he pulls me up, but instead of letting me go he pulls to close to his chest, arms wrapping around me desperately. "I thought he was going to kill you Y/N. I- I should've know something was off. I'm sorry. I almost failed you. Fuck."

I squeeze my arms around him, pressing my good cheek to his chest. "It's okay, none of us knew he was an asshole. I'm alive, and you saved me. It's alright Leon." I softy say, pulling back to show him I'm okay. He lets out a shaky breath, then cups my jaw, lifting my head until our lips are inches apart.

"If anyone ever hurts you again I swear I'll fucking kill them." He vows. My breath hitches as my eyes dart to his lips, the feeling mutual. It seems like our playful flirting wasn't so playful after all.

"Likewise Agent Kennedy." I half smile, knowing it riles him up. As expected his lips crash to mine in a symphony of lust and long awaited passion.

"It's Leon to you sweetheart," he grumbles between the kiss, "but really you can call me anything you like, as long as I'm yours and you're mine."

I nod, grasping onto him tighter as he groans and lifts my leg up, but I break away before things can get too...intense. "I bet you've had a crush on me for ages."

Leon huffs a laugh, tracing my lips with his thumb. "The first time you cracked a joke, that was when I knew we'd get along just fine."

I laugh, leaning forward and leaning my head against him as he hugs me, both of us holding each other as Duncan slowly bleeds out, all of us waiting for backup to arrive.
