Jade was happy. Her life had definitely taken a turn since the Ghostface return a year ago, for good and bad. For starters social media loved to gossip and well she was now being called a murderer which ok yeah she was but it was self defence so it wasn't a straight up murder anyway they all thought her and Sam orchestrated the whole murder spree and that Richie and the other two were innocent. She didn't even bother to give the conspiracy theorists something to go off of- quite frankly she couldn't care less. And because she didn't seem to care those particular 'fans' left her alone
Then there was the good, Kai Launer officially became her boyfriend 4 months ago. She was hard to win over, he knew that, hell even Blair had warned Kai about her daughter. Well she had wished the boy luck, so did Mark and Ryder the two men of the family practically laughed when he told them he was going to ask her out though Ruby had given him the full green light to ask and if he was being honest he trusted Ruby's opinions, she was honest - sometimes brutally honest but as least he could get a straight answer from her
Kai had relocated to New York mainly to be with Jade and get away from his shitty father but just like she'd predicted he quit his job as a nurse he now worked in a bar near their apartment as a bartender - in Jades opinion it suited him better. He'd talk to anyone so meeting new people every night was up his street, the apartment situation was nice - it was originally Kai's but Jade moved in with him, it wasn't too far from Sam and Tara's place who were rooming with a girl named Quinn Bailey, she was the daughter of a police officer and one of Tara's classmates though she was a little older
Jade didn't mind Quinn, she found the girl fun to be around but a part of her was glad it was the Carpenters rooming with her rather than herself but if the eldest Kincaid child wanted to find her brother she could lay money on Ryder being at that apartment - she thinks he has a crush on Quinn that or he was cruising for a hook up
Jade had her head resting against Kai's chest, his arm around her, they were watching the vampire diaries on tv. It was cheesy but she'd rather be watching this than some shitty horror movie. It was funny to her, Kai had complained about her slight love for the tv show but once he'd seen a few episodes he slowly started to become obsessed. From her bedside table jades phone began to ring, she groaned before reaching to grab it. Seeing her sister name pop up she pressed accept
"Ruby, do you know what time it is?" From the other end of the line ruby groaned "Jade, aren't you the same person that told me to call if I needed a ride or anything?..." Jade rolled her eyes at her sisters attitude and manipulative tone "yeah, but it's past midnight"
