Blair hated the damn shrine room, it was like a living nightmare. Everything that had haunted her the past 26 years was now rolled into one, she looked into one of the cabinets near Billy's bloody t shirt seeing drawings of herself with Billy that made tears form in her eyes "I'd say the drawings are creepy but they're really good" Blair turned seeing Chad walking towards her sporting a smile, she chuckled "true. A lot better than I could do" Chad paused beside her looking into the cabinet, he then leaned against it looking over at a Randys video jumper, Blair followed his gaze spotting what he was looking at "does your mom talk about him a lot?" She asked looking up at him, Chad shrugged "here and there. She used too but as we got older I think she ran out of stories to tell us"
That made Blair's heart sink, even Martha had run out of things to tell the twins about? God, that hurt. Then again she forgets that he only made it to 19, to her it feels like Randy had made it further but that wasn't true "you're mom was young, we all were. Randy was the heart of our group in college and high school, I guess. I don't even know how I actually became close friends with him but once I'd gotten to know him we clicked instantly, we used to have movie nights quite a lot. We'd argue all the time about whatever the movie included but it was fun. We dated in college, he was...the best" Blair could feel a lump form in her throat as she spoke about Randy, his death still hurt her to this day. She knows she has a happy life and shit but that sun ring that was constantly hanging round her neck was a reminder of that day she'll never forget
Chad listened carefully to what she said, Blair knew a different side of Randy compared to his mother. It was interesting to hear someone else's perspective "he sounds it. Do you think if he'd survived you'd still be with him?" Blair's eyes locked onto the jumper thinking over all the possibilities, she had thought about this before but she never truly had a answer "honestly, I'm not sure. I don't think I would've willingly let him go but on the other hand Ryder and Ruby wouldn't have been born and I wouldn't have fallen in love with Mark" Chad nodded understandingly another thought crossed his mind as he looked at his feet debating wether or not to tell Blair about his feelings "how...how do you know if you're in love with someone?"
A smile crawled onto Blair's face as she turned to look up at the teen "when things don't make sense without them, It's like having a best friend who also gives you butterflies." Chad nodded thinking her words over but he could still feel Blair's eyes on him, she turned her full body to face him "so, you going to tell me who the lucky person is?" Chad awkwardly chuckled scratching the back of his neck "um, maybe tomorrow?" Blair laughed shaking her head "what if I don't make it through the night? You really gonna leave me on that cliffhanger? Just so you know I will come back and haunt you" Chad laughed shrugging causally "hey, don't talk like that and no one knows yet! It's nothing personal, I promise!" Blair smirked as she pushed off of the cabinet "don't worry, I know it's something to do with a certain Carpenter sister anyway" she winked before walking away leaving a stunned Chad.
