Blair Kincaid stepped into the soft golden light, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and anticipation. The moment she had dreaded—and secretly longed for—had come. Years had passed since the chaos and bloodshed of the very first Woodsboro attack, and since the tragic loss of so many people she loved. As she moved forward, the world around her shimmered with warmth, not the eerie chill of the past.
The grassy field stretched out before her, peaceful and serene. Birds chirped melodiously, and the air smelled like wildflowers and fresh rain. Blair's chest tightened with emotion as she took her first steps into this eternal place. Heaven, they had told her. A place of peace, but for her, the memories of the past haunted her still. The face of Billy Loomis, her first love and first betrayal, flickered in her mind like a faded photograph. And Randy—sweet, nerdy Randy Meeks—whose life had been stolen too soon. Even with the gain of the love of her life, Mark, Blair had carried the weight of those losses for so long, and now, somehow, she hoped to find peace.
A voice broke her reverie. "Blair? Is that you?"
She spun around, her breath catching in her throat. Tatum Riley stood a few yards away, her fiery blonde hair catching the light, a grin tugging at the corners of her lips. She looked just like Blair remembered—beautiful, fierce, with an unshakable spirit. Tatum's arms were crossed casually, but there was a flicker of emotion in her eyes, something that spoke of understanding.
"Tatum," Blair whispered, her voice thick with disbelief.
In an instant, they closed the distance between them, Tatum enveloping Blair in a tight hug. It was a warmth Blair hadn't felt in years, a comfort she thought she'd never experience again.
"I've been waiting for you," Tatum said, pulling back just enough to look into Blair's eyes. "You took your sweet time."
Blair let out a laugh, one she didn't know she was capable of anymore. "I... I didn't know I'd get here."
Tatum's expression softened. "We all get here eventually — minus the psychotic assholes" a grin pulled at Blair's lips.
Another voice called out. "You're not the only one who's been waiting."
Blair turned to see Dewey Riley, standing there with his signature awkward smile, his eyes kind and full of love. Dewey had always been a protector, a man of few words but with a heart that carried so much. He looked younger, untouched by the trauma that had marred his life on Earth. Blair felt the tears well up again as she rushed toward him, and he wrapped her in a hug that made her feel like she was finally home.
