Kathy had left with a nurse. The young woman had offered to show Kathy around the hospital. The teen was more than excited to see all the cool things this hospital had to offer.

Carina was watching Maya sleep when she heard her groan. The machines start to beep. "Dad. Dad. Please. Please. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. Carina help me." Maya screamed her voice hoarse. "Maya. Maya. Hey. Wake up you are having a nightmare." Maya woke up screaming. Clawing at her throat. An nurse came in. "What is happening?" "Nightmare. Its okay. I've got her. I'll call you if i need you." "Okay." The nurse left. "Hey. Hey Hey. Maya. Its okay. You are okay. You are okay." Carina blew softly into her face to calm her. It took a while to calm down, but when she did, Carina had sat down behind her pulling her close to her chest. "You are okay. That was a scary dream, hm." "Mhm." Maya nodded into the crook of her neck. "Do you want to talk about it." Maya sighed. She was still out of breath. She rested her eyes for a minute.

"Lane. He he made feel so bad for my allergy. I had had shocks before but my mom was always there. She gave me benedryl or the epipen. She was there, but then she wasn't. She was at home. I was at a trackmeet. I think i was 14 or 15 or something. I hadn't had anything to eat for two days. Hima gave me something out of her lunchbox in the changing room. The sandwich had sesame on it, so i didn't take it, but i took something out of the box. I was so hungry. And when i ran i was so out of breath. And then i knew i was having a reaction. My pen was in my bag, so i told Lane, i needed it. But he just said, i hadn't had anything to eat so i couldn't have a shock. He said i wouldn't waste 500 dollors. I kept telling him i needed it, but he wouldn't budge. When i said i ate something from Himas bag he just said, well thats what you get for being week. I pulled myself into the changing room and gave me the shot myself." "Oh Bambina.I am so sorry. Did he at least take you to the hospital?" "No. I ran the race. I came in third so i had to walk home, but at least i could get a new epipen on the way home. I used all my pocketmoney on it, but Lane would never get me a new one. My mom gave me the money later, but still. " "Everyday i learn something to hate him more." "I hate this allergy. I makes me feel so weak." "I'm sorry. But you aren't weak. You are so strong. You were so strong on that plane. You could have paniked and everything, but you didn't you were so strong, so so strong. And i love you so much for waking up to me again."

Kathy opened the door carefully.  "Oh you are awake." "Yeah." Maya rasped. Kathy sat down on the chair next to them. "Mamma? Did you cry?" "I did. But we are okay." "You did." Maya turned to look at Carinas face. "Yeah, but its okay Bambina. Come here." Carina opened her arm for Kathy to come on the bed with them. They snuggled together and although the bed was very small they felt comfortable.

Two days later Maya was discharged and Carina booked the plane to Italy. All three of them were sure they still wanted to go on the trip.

After the whirlwind of chaos and frustration, Maya, Carina and Kathy stood at the airport gate, their excitement palpable as they waited to board their newly booked flight to Italy. They were ready to embark on their long-awaited adventure.

As they watched the plane approach the gate, Maya squeezed Carina's hand tightly, her heart pounding with anticipation. Italy had always been a dream destination for them, and now, after months of planning and setbacks, they were finally on their way.

Kathy bounced on the balls of her feet, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she clutched her passport and boarding pass. She had been looking forward to this trip for so long, and the thought of exploring the historic cities and picturesque countryside of Italy filled her with joy.

As the boarding announcement echoed through the terminal, Maya, Carina, and Kathy joined the line of passengers making their way onto the plane. They settled into their seats, their hearts light with the promise of new adventures and unforgettable memories awaiting them in Italy.

As the plane taxied down the runway and lifted off into the sky, Maya couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude wash over her. Despite the unexpected detour caused by her allergic reaction, they were finally on their way to Italy, together as a family.

Throughout the flight, Maya, Carina, and Kathy poured over guidebooks and maps, eagerly planning their itinerary for their time in Italy. From exploring the ancient ruins of Rome to their final Destination Belpasso Sicily, they were determined to make the most of every moment of their trip.

As the plane began its descent towards their destination, Maya glanced out the window, her heart swelling with anticipation at the sight of the Italian countryside unfolding beneath them. Soon, they would be stepping foot on Italian soil, ready to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of this beautiful country.

As they disembarked from the plane and stepped into the warm Italian sunshine, Maya, Carina, and Kathy shared a moment of quiet celebration, their hearts filled with gratitude for the journey that had brought them here. Italy awaited, and they were ready to embrace every moment of the adventure that lay ahead.
