The arrival back to forks was awful, Isabella hiding herself away in any way that didn't look suspicious. Alice had taken her home, and had Carlisle call Embry. Isabella stayed in her room, in her bed and under her covers.Knocking on her door, Embry slowly walked into her room. "Izzy, baby," he spoke softly, as he placed a soft hand on her back.

Feeling Embry's touch on her back, Isabella couldn't help but flinch slightly. She remained curled up under her covers, her face buried in her pillow."I'm sorry, Embry," she whispered, her voice muffled. "I should have listened... I should have stayed away..."

Frowning, he moved to lay beside her and pulled her into his arms. "Izzy, it isn't your fault. I don't know your dad, hell I don't even know my own, but he sounds like a real piece of work from what Carlisle told me. What do you need?"

Isabella leaned into Embry's embrace, feeling a mix of comfort and guilt wash over her. She sighed softly, turning to face him."I just mneed you," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need to feel safe... and loved."

"I want you to know that I will do whatever I can to make you feel safe. And I do love you more than anything," Embry spoke, pulling the blanket off the top of her head and kissing it.

Isabella smiled weakly, touched by Embry's words and gestures. She reached up to caress his cheek gently."Thank you," she murmured, feeling a glimmer of warmth amid the turmoil of emotions. "Just hold me, please."

"Maybe one day when we have kids, we'll show them the love and-" he paused, not sure if that was the right thing to say. "I just plan on us being together until you don't want to put up with this dog anymore."

Isabella's heart swelled with emotion at Embry's words. She leaned in closer to him, resting her head against his chest."I can't imagine my life without you, Embry," she whispered. "And someday, when we're ready, I'd love to start a family with you."

He smiled, as he ran a hand through her hair, and smiled down at her. "I'm glad you escaped that toxicity. I'm glad you found a home with a new family. I'm also glad that you found me in the woods that day," he spoke, as he pulled the covers over both of them.

Rose, being the mother figure she was to Isabella, popped her head into Izzy's room. "Don't try anything with her, dog. Or you will be my first blood bag. My Isabella is still trying get her human legs," she spoke, before moving out of the room.

Embry chuckled softly at Rose's warning, his arm still wrapped protectively around Isabella.

"Don't worry, Rose," he replied. "I'll always treat her with the respect and love she deserves. She means everything to me." He pressed a gentle kiss to Isabella's forehead, feeling grateful for her presence in his life.

Isabella pulled herself to look up at him and rested her chin on his shoulder. "Forever is a long time... are you sure you are ready for all of this? The crazy half vampire? The adoptive family that protects me at any cost? The best human friend? The bio family who wants me locked away?"

Embry tightened his hold around Isabella, his expression filled with determination and love.

"Izzy, I'm ready for anything as long as it means I get to be with you," he said softly, looking into her eyes. "We'll face whatever challenges come our way together. And as for your family, we'll handle them too. You're not alone in this, remember?" He pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, reassuring her of his unwavering support.

She felt her stomach flutter with love. Moving up, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Her lips slowly met his. In that moment, the world around them seemed to fade away as they shared a sweet and tender kiss, their hearts beating in sync with each other. Embry held her close, savoring the warmth and love radiating between them. It was a moment of pure connection and understanding, reaffirming their bond and commitment to each other.

Slowly, as the two pulled away from one another, Isabella looked up at him. Embry held her in his arms.

"Isabella... Marry me," the words slipped out without a second thought.

Isabella's eyes widened in surprise at Embry's unexpected proposal. Her heart raced as she processed his words, feeling a rush of emotions flood through her. She gazed into his eyes, seeing the sincerity and love reflected in them.

"Embry... Yes," she whispered, her voice trembling with joy and excitement. "Yes, I'll marry you."

Wrapped in each other's arms, Isabella and Embry allowed themselves to bask in the warmth of their love and the promise of their future together. With a sense of peace settling over her, Isabella let herself drift into a contented sleep, feeling grateful for the unwavering support and love of her mate.
