Naruto: Legacy of the Hidden Rain

Chapter 1: New Beginning

Shortly after giving birth to Naruto. Minato and Kushina plan to put the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of their son, as Kushina is too weak from childbirth to retain the fox again. Still, the fox kills Naruto, and Minato and Kushina jump in the way of the fox's nail. Minato and Kushina say their goodbyes to Naruto. They wished for him to have an everyday life as Minato finished the sealing, and the Fox went inside Naruto, causing Minato and Kushina to fall to the ground with their last breath. Minato wished his son to be seen as a hero, but Kushina wanted her son to have an everyday life without having to be feared but to be loved. Suddenly, a voice cried out for them. "MINATO! KUSHINA-ONEESAN." screamed a nineteen-year-old Konan who arrived with Lord Third and a few Leaf shinobi as Konan held her long-time friend and sister figure in her arms. "Kushina... Hang in there!." Konan said as she brushed Kushina's hair off her face, and Kushina opened her eyes slightly to see Konan and Lord Third. "Kushina, the Nine-Tails, where is it?." Lord Third asked as Kushina weakly answered his question, "It's... sealed within our son... Naruto..." she started as Lord Third heard Naruto's cries. A Leaf shinobi brought him over as Lord Third gently took Naruto off the shinobi and held him in his arms. Then he turned back to face Kushina again. "Please... Tell no one... I want my son to have a good life..." she said as Lord Third struggled to answer. Then Kushina looked at Konan. "Please... Look after him... raise him," she said as she begged Konan to take Naruto as her own. "I will, Kushina... I will." she softly said, and then Kushina looked at Lord Third again.

"Everything we have... Everything we own... Goes to Konan... it is in our will." Kushina said as Lord Third nodded at her while the two Leaf shinobi carried Minato away to the hospital, but he was already gone. Kushina looked at Konan one last time. "Konan..." Konan cut her off. "Please don't speak; let us take you to the hospital," she said, but Kushina shook her head at them. "You're so stubborn, just like when we met, a stubborn little sister... I've always loved you, Konan, like my own sister... Just keep your promise, and I won't try to come back and haunt you." Kushina said as she giggled softly, and Konan softly smiled. "Always the jokester," she said, but then Kushina closed her eyes and leaned her head onto Konan's shoulder. Konan noticed this and checked her pulse, then leaned her ear to Kushina's chest to hear her heart, but there was nothing, no pulse or heartbeats. Kushina was now gone and passed away in Konan's arms. Konan held Kushina tightly close to her and started crying. "She's..." she began as Lord Third leaned close to hear what she was saying. "She's gone... Kushina is gone..." she said as she tilted her head against Kushina's neck and started sobbing out loud. Lord Third looked at Naruto, seeing the baby had started crying again, sensing his Mother and Father were now gone. Then Lord Third looked at Konan once more. "Konan... We have to go. Please take Naruto, and we'll fill in the papers," he said. Konan nodded weakly, and she gently put down Kushina's body to the ground. Then she turned to Lord Third and gently took Naruto in her arms, rocking Naruto and shushing him to calm him down. She got up and walked away with Naruto back to the village.

An hour and a half later, Konan arrived at the hospital so that Naruto could be nursed to health. Konan remained in the hospital, waiting to hear if Naruto was okay. Still, about ten minutes after giving Naruto to the doctors, one of the nurses rushed to Konan and told her that Naruto was losing blood. Hearing this brought fear and shock as she ran with the nurse to Naruto's side. Once they reached Naruto, Konan gripped the doctor's arms. "What's wrong with him?." she asked with concern and worry. "He's losing too much blood. Something must have gone wrong during his delivery," he said as Konan listened carefully. "We need to give him a blood transfusion, but we don't know his blood type yet." the doctor said as Konan looked at Naruto on the bassinet and then back at the doctor. "Transfer my blood... I'm Type O. It will be safe for him," she said as she worried a lot about Naruto. The doctor thought about it and then looked at his nurse assistant. "Bring me the Blood Transfusion Equipment, STAT!." the doctor said as the nurse nodded and went to look for the equipment while the doctor got Konan and Naruto side by side. Then, the nurse returned after a minute and gave the equipment to the doctor. Then the doctor put the needles in Konan and Naruto's vines, but he was more gentle with Naruto since he's only just been born. He started the procedure, and Konan's blood began to leave her arm through the tubes and slowly enter Naruto's arm. Konan waited four hours, looking pale and tired, but she did it for Naruto. Just as she was about to pass out, the doctor gently removed the needles from both their arms, but the doctor and nurse gasped.
