Chapter 35: Third Shinobi War Part 6: The Nine-Tails

At the site of the Nine-Tails, the person was on its head and was smirking darkly as its goal was now complete and was now in control of the Nine-Tails. At the same time, on the ground, Minato had just dealt with the Shadow Clones and was now holding Kushina in her arms with their son. Both were looking up at the Nine-Tails in worry and anger. Then, Kushina looked at Minato and tucked on his jacket's collar, and then Minato looked down at her. "Minato... Please take me to a place where I can perform a sealing ritual..." Kushina said in her weakened state after the Nine-Tails was forced out of her. Minato was worried by her request. "We can't let it go back inside you, Kushina. You don't have enough strength left," Minato said as Kushina softly smiled and cupped Minato's cheek. "We'll put the Nine-Tails inside Naruto. But we need to keep it a secret from others," Kushina said. Minato was shocked by her suggestion as he looked at their son in Kushina's arms, looked up at the Nine-Tails, and then at Kushina. "We'll spit the fox. I'll take half and the other half in Naruto," Minato suggested. Kushina looked at Minato, thought about his suggestion, and nodded. "You want to make it look like the full power of the Nine-Tails is inside you," Kushina said as Minato nodded, and then he summoned a Shadow Clone and passed his wife and son to its arms. "Take them somewhere so that Kushina can set up the ritual," Minato said as his clone nodded and dashed off with Kushina and Naruto. Minato turned to face the Nine-Tails, activated his Flying Raijin, flew toward the Nine-Tails, and aimed for the person on the Nine-Tails' head. The person saw Minato coming and was annoyed. "Don't you know when to quit?" The person said as they jumped off the Nine-Tails' head and went straight to Minato, and the two clashed their fists together, causing a shockwave across the field. Meanwhile, Minato's clone found a suitable place for Kushina to perform the ritual. In contrast, the clone held Naruto for safety and kept a lookout just in case any enemy shinobi would stop them, but also would glance over to the battle of the Nine-Tails from time to time. Konan was about to go and deal with the Nine-Tails when Hiruzen quickly grabbed Konan's shoulder, stopping her. "I need you to answer me first, Konan," Hiruzen said as Konan glared at his choice. "What? So I went to see the Fire Daimyo in secret! I did it for my family and the village since you wouldn't do anything against Danzo or do anything at all," Konan said as she showed how mad she was at Hiruzen's choices over the years as the Third Hokage. Then, Hiruzen let go of Konan's shoulder, and she turned around and crossed her arms with a dark expression towards him. "I don't care how long you want to keep Danzo alive, 'Lord Third', but even you know you can't deny the Fire Daimyo's orders for long," Konan said as her words spoke the truth.

Konan and Hiruzen's ears perked up as they heard someone coming towards them. "KONAN!" Two girls shouted as Konan turned around to be greeted by Rin and Anko, and then they tackled Konan and laughed as they hugged her. "We missed you, Aunt Konan!" Anko said as she looked up at Konan with a bright smile, and then Rin spoke up. "Yeah! We know you went on a long trip! How did it go?" Rin asked as she looked up at Konan also and smiled at her. Konan sat up and looked down at her Niece, and then she raised a brow. "How did you two know I was going on a trip?" Konan asked as both girls knew they had slipped up and looked at each other, and then they backed up at Konan. "We overheard you before you left," Anko said as Rin nodded in agreement. "Yeah! We didn't mean to overhear, Aunt Konan, and we promise we didn't hear where you were going. We only heard you going on a trip," Rin explained as Konan sighed in relief and kissed their foreheads. "I appreciate that you both respected my boundaries, but you must find Minato and Kushina!" Konan said as Rin and Anko looked at each other. They heard a roar, and they covered their ears. Then, they both looked behind them and saw for the first time that Nine-Tails Beats. Their eyes widened, their faces went pale, and their blood ran cold. Then, they looked back at Konan, shaking. "Don't worry! You're not going near it. Just find Minato and Kushina," Konan started as the girls nodded, and then Konan spoke up again. "Find your team and get going," Konan ordered as Anko and Rin stood up, and Rin spoke up. "But... We wanted to tell you some news... It's about our team..." Rin said as Konan raised a brow and got up from the ground to hear what they had to say. "Our team got ambushed, and we held off the enemy as best as we could, but there was too much, and I had to summon that Joro Spider guy..." Rin said as she hung her head down and felt that Konan would yell at her. Then, Konan looked at Rin with anger and looked at Anko, who had her head down, too, and then Konan looked back at Rin. "You know fine well what would happen if you summoned that creature!" Konan started in an angry tone. As Konan looked at them, they knew what they did was against their rules for having the necklace, but then Konan sighed. "How did you get the necklace in the first place," Konan asked, waiting for an answer from one of them. After a minute of silence, Anko looked up at Konan and spoke. "Mom gave us the necklace... Well... Gave it to Rin. Mom felt something was off with our mission and permitted us to summon that creature," Anko explained as Konan listened to them carefully, and then she sighed.
