Inner Eye
The big guy was pinning me to the tree, his hand rough on my shoulder. His eyes were dark, almost black, and his hair hung in his eyes, matching the color of his eyes. I glanced at my arms and they were normal; no white marks.
"She seems too pretty to be a demon," the blonde said.
"The pretty deceive, you should know that," North said. His face was grim, and his lips snarled.
The blonde chuckled, "You're never going to let that down, are you?"
North just grunted. His arms were encasing me to the tree, and my hands pressed against his chest, pushing lightly.
A thought struck me, hard.
I might actually die!
He captured my hands and pressed them to the tree in one hand, holding them above my head. My heart was pounding so hard, I'm pretty sure he could hear it. The tip of the knife traced my neck. That's when I noticed it was glowing, an unnatural glow, like my arms. The blue blade was clear. What the...
"Tell us something, and we might spare you." North growled.
"I-I don't know anything! I was just taking a run through the park and saw you kill that little girl!"
North cackled, "Not the best cover story, I've heard better." He pressed to tip of the blade, and a warm substance oozed from my neck. I swallowed thickly.
I opened my mouth, about to scream, when the blonde moved at an unnatural speed and covered my mouth.
I bit back a lace of tears as the knife pressed harder into my throat. The blonde removed his hand. "The cops'll find out about this! You murdered a little girl!"
"They can't find what's not there," North said.
I looked at him confused. Looking past him as best as I could, I watched the little girl start to smoke, until more and more fogged around the body, and it disappeared entirely. A gasp shook my core. The blood, the body, the jump rope, everything was gone.
"What's going on?" I asked softly, my voice shaking.
North's eye narrowed at me. "I don't think she is one," The blonde said softly.
They glanced at each other and shared a look. North looked back at me and dropped his knife. It landed between my feet, sticking up from the ground. His hands circled around my neck and lifted me off of the ground. I reached up grasping at his hands, trying to pry some space. Fear was pulsing in my blood. My vision was dancing with black dots. I knew my emotions were acting up. I glanced at my arms before my vision completely blacked, but I was still there. They were alight, white marks littering my arms just like the previous night. Air would push into my lungs, no matter how hard I tried.
A bright light blasted in my view before I shut my eyes to the darkness.
