Inner Eye

I woke up, and we were in the car again. North was holding me in his arms, my feet were stretched into Luke's lap. Kota was driving. I close my eyes and listen to North's heartbeat...

I wake up again, and this time someone was carrying me down the halls of the institute. A door was opened and I was laid on a bed softly. The heat of North was immediately gone, and I missed it. I shot my hand out to grab his. Fear was thrumming in my stomach. "Don't leave, please. I don't want to be alone."

North stepped closer to me. "I won't leave, as long as you want me," he replied.

I scooted over and patted the spot next to me. He looked hesitant to lay down with me. What was I doing? I patted the spot next to me, my head lulling slightly. It was so heavy.

He climbed in, and sat on the very edge. I snuggled into him, and I was out like a light.

Light murmuring woke me up. I still didn't open my eyes, the light was burning my closed eyelids. I snuggled deeper into the warmth of the bed, and froze.

Someone, with no shirt, was laying next to me. My heart started pound. What was going on, what happened?

His chest rumbled as he answered to whatever someone said.

How many people were in here? Oh no, oh no, oh no!

I opened my eyes to see my face pressed into a hard, firm chest. I pulled back quickly, gasping, and then falling. My back his the ground hard. North's face peaked over me from the bed. Legs were standing around me. Someone bent over and helped me sit. I looked into Silas' concerned face. "Need help there aggele?"

"Thanks," I said softly.

He helped me stand, and I noticed that he was the only there in the room with us. "What happened?" I asked. I was still wearing the outfit from last night.

"You were quite delusional when we brought you back," North said. He sat up and I sat next to him. "It was like you were hyped up on laughing gas, talking nonsense." he shook his head. "Then, you asked if I would stay with you, and you wanted me to lie next to you. You snuggled into me and you were out cold."

I looked down at my hands. "Oh," what do you say to these kind of circumstance? "Thanks, i guess."

"What do you remember of last night?" Silas asked.

"Everything up to fighting the demon, i guess. What were the outcomes?"

"We won, it was successful." North said.

"You make it sound like a game."

"Isn't it a game? The only difference is the results can be more severe."

The door opened, and Dr. Sean walked in. "Hey pookie, how are you doing?"

"Pookie?" i asked

He shrugged, "It fits you."

I shook my head, a small smile on my lips, "I'm doing fine."

"That's good to hear. You were scratched by the demon, and had the poison in your system. We were worried about you."

"Thanks, for everything so far."

The door slammed open. "Oy, I hear you got into some more trouble Trouble. Mr. B wants to talk to you, then, we're going shopping!" he sounded so excited, it kind of made me nervous. I didn't like shopping.

He took my hand and lead me down many halls to an office. He opened the door and pushed me in. My nerves were flying and I was biting my lip. "You're gonna be fine, Trouble. I'll be waiting right here for you."

"Wait, I have to face him alone?" I whispered.

He barked out a laugh, "God, Sang. You're so cute."

He shut the door. He called me cute...

A throat cleared. I turned around to meet the steal eyes of Mr. Blackbourne.

"Ms. Sorenson,"

"Mr. Blackbourne, good morning."

"As to you." he said. "Please take a seat."

I sat on the chair in front of his desk.

"Last night, Mr. Lee informed me of something spectacular that happened while you were retrieving your belongings. Would you like to explain?"

"I honestly don't remember what happened. I'm sorry, I can't tell you, it's just blank." I feel like i'm letting him down. I look down at my hands.

"Sang, look at me." I lifted my head at his command. "This isn't your fault. Would you like to know what happened?"

"Yes please."

~North's pov.~

I watched my brothers get knocked to the ground and sneak behind the demon. Sang's standing in the middle of the room, like a dear caught in headlights. I sang my sword deep into one of the pressure points in the demons back. It hissed and knocked me back. My vision darkened for a moment, but I forced myself to gather my bearings again.

I could see her movements, as the knife I gave her glinted in the air, and raced for the opened mouth of the beast. I couldn't move as the demon swung his tail around, swiping her off of her feet. She went soaring through the air.

"Sang!" I yelled. She slid into a sitting position, looking dazed. I struggled to my feet. Got to help her...

Her arms from under the sleeves started to glow. She stood up, looking determined. Her face was set. In her palms, a clear mist swirled, absorbing the light from under her jacket. The temperature in the room suddenly dropped as she walked to face the beast head on. A bright light blinded me for a split second. My vision cleared after a few seconds and I looked back at her. The new light, it came from her eyes. Her eyes were glowing white and her hands matched.

I was shocked. Never had I seen of something like this before.

The demon went to swipe at her with his tail at a speed so fast, it was blurred, she stepped to the side. It was a split second, and the beast was flying towards Sang. I was running.

It was going to kill her.

She lifted her shining hand, and as the beast touched it, it froze in a crystalline force field. Shattering, the demon turned to black smog, rolling in thick clouds around the room, and disappearing entirely.

How the hell did she do that?
