3rd POV:

On a lone road cutting through the American countryside is a red 2019 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, its occupants conversing as the vehicle continues on its journey.

"Why are we going to Smallville?", a 16-year-old boy asks from the back seat behind the driver, his blond hair reflecting the morning sun above as he shifts his gaze from the passing fields to the occupants within.

"Yeah, I thought we were fine where we were. Why'd we have to move?", this new voice coming from a 17-year-old girl with long black hair reaching past her shoulders, she looked up from her phone which was a news report regarding the disappearance of superheroes.

"We spoke about this kids, your father and I decided that moving was the best choice for us. For all of us to have a fresh start, a way for your parents to officially retire from Hero life. Right Bob?", a middle-aged woman answered, she sat in the passenger seat of the car as she turned to the back seats to talk with her children.

"Listen to your mother kids, the world doesn't need heroes like your mother and me anymore. They've moved on from us now, they've got Superman.", Bob replied explaining his views on the matter. Bob was a rather well-built man with broad shoulders and a muscular figure, he kept both hands on the steering wheel briefly looking at his kids before returning his eyes to the road.

"Just because you've retired doesn't mean that we don't want to be heroes. What if Superman retires? Who'd step up then?", a third voice spoke up from the backseat of the car, sitting between the two teens. This boy was 14 years old and was holding onto a golden ring which held a black letter i in the middle.

"Exactly! Y/n gets it. So what if Superman is around, he's one guy why would it be a bad thing if someone else picks up the slack.", the 16-year-old teen agreed with the boy beside him.

"Dash, Y/n, Violet, we just want the best for you. A normal life before a hero's life. You've spent more time being heroes than being yourselves. Please for us can you try?", their mother tried to settle the matter peacefully.

However, the teens in the back of the car didn't like how their mother abruptly ended the conversation and the rest of the journey was carried on in silence as the car passed a sign reading, "Welcome to Smallville!"

After driving through the town and eventually finding their new home, a house on the outskirts of the town bordering the lush green fields surrounding it. There was only one other house nearby which had a barn opposite it with red paint peeling off the wooden boards.

"Seriously? We're in the middle of nowhere.", the youngest of the family Y/n spoke up as he watched his dad carry the furniture single-handedly into their new home.

*Whoosh*

"Well, I've done a lap of this place and it just screams old!", Dash exclaimed as a small trail of dust could be seen behind him.

"Dash! What did I tell you about using your powers? What if you were seen?", their mother scolded the hyper teen who kicked the dirt as he stood beside his younger brother.

"Seen? It's practically a ghost town here.", Violet responded as she appeared from nowhere and stood next to her brothers.

"Don't say that, look I know you don't like that we moved but I hope that in time you will grow to like this place. Make friends, have fun, and have a normal life at least as normal as possible. Something away from just being a hero.", the woman asked as she looked at her children with hope.

They caved in and collectively replied, "Okay."

"Great because tonight we are going to introduce ourselves to our neighbours.", she concluded, "Now how about helping your father with the stuff while I grab some groceries.", their mother suggested as the siblings nodded and each picked up a box or two while Y/n had a few boxes floating behind him as he walked inside.
