~*James’s POV*~

I wake up at sunrise and continue on my way.

I catch and eat a rabbit an hour into the run. Other than that, I don’t stop till I arrive at a road. The road features a sign showing the Louisiana border.

I follow the road to a town. I hide behind a building where I shift and get dressed with clothes from my backpack.

I then walk through town and sniff the air. A strange, unfamiliar scent leads me to a hotel. In the Lobby, a tall women checks out at the desk. She turns and sees me and smiles.

I watch her walk up to me and greet me. “Hello James, I’m Sky. I’ll be the one to get rid of our problem and help Whisper.”

I shake her hand. “You already know my name. I’m Whisper’s Mate. Daniel has probly explained everything to you already.”

Sky nodds and leads me out of the hotel. “Let’s go. I have all the information I need so stick with me and we will find Whisper.”

I nodd. “How are you going to find her scent? You’re not a werewolf.”

Sky stopped in her tracks and looked at me. “I am a type of hybrid that can’t be recreated. I am part werewolf and that’s all you need to know about me. When you see my wolf, don’t question her form. She can be defensive and much more powerful than any living creature.”

Her eyes showed fear as she spoke of her wolf and I understood it. Her wolf was too much of even her to control. I nodded and she began walking again. Near the edge of town she led me behind a building. “Shift here and walk into the forest for a mile. Or follow my scent.”

I watched as she walked into the forest. I stripped and shifted. Picking up my backpack in my teeth, I followed her scent for a mile. When I found her, I couldn’t help but stare.

She carried her coat in her mouth and looked at me as I looked at her wolf. Her tail was a black fog, her feet were on fire and the rest of her was an ice blue. I realized that her fur WAS ice.

‘It’s not nice to stare.’ A voice strange rings through my head. ‘I’m Aurora, Sky’s wolf.’

I nodd and look away. I watch as the wolf begins a jog. I have to run at full speed to keep up. We travel like this for an hour before she stops. ‘Do you know Shay’s scent or Whisper’s scent?’

I nodd and sniff the air. I can smell a faint stench that I recognize as Shay. ‘Yes, and I can smell him now.’

Sky nodded as her voice rings through my mind. ‘Follow me then. You can may sure that I don’t stray from the scent.’

I nodd and follow her. Every once in a while, I’ll breathe in and take note that Shay’s scent is getting stronger.

Eventually we arrive at a cave’s entrance. Sky tells me to wait while she goes in.
