124: Mr. Blue Sky

( Back to Present and going back to First Person POV with Sophie! )

As I could only stare in silence at the sight of her parents lying in bed comfortably, I felt like whatever happened to make them end up here was something she had to know. 

Holy crap, how did this happen? I thought mom was actually gonna sleep on the couch, so what made her change her mind and then let... this happen? 

Wait– Should I even be seeing this? I mean, it's my parents, so is this okay?

Erm... I'm just gonna go back downstairs and hope that mom wakes up first. All I could do was just think to turn around and made sure not to turn around as I left the bedroom in hopes that no one else would see what I saw. 

When I got back to the kitchen, my brother–Wataru–looked up to see that I was alone. 

"Huh? Did Miss Doriyaku leave early this morning?" 

"I-I'm not even gonna answer." 

"Huh? What happened?" 

"I-I'll tell you later."

And just as I started making a late brunch was when Izuki and Katsuma were coming down the stairs. 

"Yawn~ Good morning~" Izuki yawned. 

"Good morning Izuki. Good morning Katsuma." I started. 

"Hm? Big bro, you're up before me?" Katsuma asked. 

"Yeah, what about it?" 

"Hm? Ah– Woah~ What happened to the backyard?" Izuki noted as she ran over to the back door. 

"Huh? Woah, Izuki's right, the backyard changed!" Katsuma added. Me and Wataru just happened to look at each other and chuckle a little. 

"Let's just say me and Wataru pulled up our sleeves and did a little gardening this morning." I answered. 

"Wha– You did, Nee-chan?!?! And Wataru-nii too?!?!" 

"Why wouldn't I?" 

"Wow~ It's so pretty~" 

"Huh– Makes sense why you guys are up before us. Oh yeah, did something happen last night?" Katsuma questioned, making me stop what I was doing to look at my brother. 

"E-Eh?" 

"Yeah, I thought I heard noises last night, Nee-chan! It sounded like Papa came home last night." 

"Is dad home?" 

Right after that, I watched as Izuki and Katsuma looked over at the stairs and were about to start running up the stairs.

"No!" I yelled, making them stop and look at me. 

"Uh– D-Dad came home drunk and so he might not wanna be woken up just yet." I nervously added, because I especially didn't want my siblings to see what I found this morning and who's in bed with dad just yet. 

"Huh? Dad came home drunk? Why?" 

"I-I don't know really, one of dad's friends called me last night and I had to go out and bring him home. I might've made a lot of noise just trying to carry dad upstairs, so sorry if we woke you guys up. Heheh~" I laughed, hoping they wouldn't see through my lie. 

But right before they could say anything, I heard my phone ringing in my pocket, making me look to see that it was Koko–my grandma–calling me. 

"Hm? Koko?" 

"Is Koko calling you, Nee-chan?" 

"Yeah, but I don't know why. Let's see... Hello?"

"Sophie~ Thank goodness you answered me! Are you with your siblings?"
