The ranch was eerily quiet, a silence that seemed to echo the finality of your departure. You and Michael took your last walk together, feeling the weight of the decision to leave the place that was no longer home. The ranch had once been a sanctuary, but now it held only nightmares, anger, madness, and sadness. Michael's escape had become a prison.

He had just finished his last photoshoot, capturing a peace that belied the pain in his eyes. Years of suffering, lies, and broken promises had taken their toll on him. But Michael, with his thick skin, rarely showed his pain except when he was with you, his wife and steadfast companion through all the trials. You had been by his side, even when the world seemed determined to tear you both apart.

As you held Michael's hand tightly, you walked away from the park where the carousel lights dimmed for the last time, the music fading with each step. It was a moment you never thought you'd face-watching your husband's dream home turn into a living nightmare.

Michael sighed deeply, a single tear falling from his eyes onto your hand.

"Baby, look at me," you said, stopping in your tracks and turning to him, cupping his face gently.

Michael blinked away his tears and met your gaze.

"It'll get better," you reassured him. "We'll find somewhere else, somewhere for us and the kids."

Michael nodded, though the pain lingered in his eyes. "I know. I just wish none of this had happened. This whole thing is a nightmare. Why me?"

"Don't say that, Michael," you said, wiping his tears with your thumbs. "You're strong. Don't think like that."

"I know," he replied, his voice trembling. "But what if it happens again?"

You shook your head, holding back your own tears and the anger you had harbored for years. "It won't. Don't think that. We both know none of that is true. They want money, that's all they want. And I won't let them break you more than they already have. I'm not losing my husband to this."

Your voice choked with emotion as you spoke. Michael took your hand, placing a soft kiss on it and keeping it near his lips as his tears fell even more freely. It hurt to see him like this, but you knew it was best for him to let out his emotions. You remembered the day of the second accusation vividly-everything in the hotel room had been smashed to pieces. He had been inconsolable, and it was the worst you had ever seen him. He had been terrified that you would leave him for scaring the kids.

But you had stayed, just as you always had, and now you would both find a way to move forward.

"Thank you for staying by my side," Michael whispered against your hand, his voice barely audible.
