Jisung couldn't help but stare out the window for the entire trip from the airport over to the Olympic village. The sights were incredible. He'd been to Paris before a couple of years back to partake in one of the bouldering championships but he never had a chance to take part in Paris.
It was a lot quieter than he had thought. He knew that most Parisians had actually gone away to their holiday homes, or had left Paris because of the games. Jisung remembered briefly when the Olympics had been in London in 2012. His parents had managed to get tickets to a few of the smaller and less popular events like archery and hockey. He had spent his days walking around the very busy Olympic Park and waiting in a line to get his photo with the Olympic torch. It was almost surreal that 12 years later he was now taking part in the games as well.
On the way to the Olympic village, they drove past the Arc de Triomphe and Jisung couldn't help but film them going round the large roundabout. He would have to make a video about his trip so he could send it to his family.
Pulling up to the village Jisung immediately sucked in a breath. It was busy, very busy. The whole of the South Korean team had arrived at the same time. But a bunch of other athletes and coaches were milling about, dragging their suitcases into the first part of getting their credentials.
"Right before we get off the bus, I will let you know what we are doing. We'll be going through security, then you'll get your credentials. We'll then head over to the team house and you can dump your stuff down. You can then explore the village. But we will be having a meeting later in the day so don't turn your phones off and please keep an eye out for my message." See-Yung announced to the climbers.
Jisung glanced over to Miihi and Jeonyeon who both looked like they were going to jump out of their seats the second See-Yung let them off the bus. Minho and Changbin were sitting half listening and half typing away on their phones and scrolling through social media still catching up with any missed messages they had gotten whilst on the long flight.
Jisung only had a few 'safe flying' messages from his family and one from Felix saying how he had just arrived at the village and was gorging on a chocolate muffin, something Jisung had to try apparently.
The boy was excited to finally see his friend for what felt like months. They'd actually be able to hang out rather than just training, which Jisung was excited for.
Without even realising See-Yung had finished giving them instructions everyone started to make their way off the bus to grab their suitcases and bags. Luckily security didn't take too long. It was just like a small airport style security and their bags were scanned as they walked through the metal detector arch thing, the only good thing was you wouldn't get randomly selected to be patted down.
"You excited?" Miihi dragged her suitcase besides where Jisung was standing waiting for everyone to finish getting cleared.
"Very. I can't wait to go in and see what the village looks like. Apparently, they have a large gym, and like random things like a hair and beauty place? Might get my nails painted for the competition." Jisung hummed as he watched Minho roll his eyes at a security member who was patting him down because he had forgotten to take off some metal.
"Oooo that would be fun! Let me know when you do that, I'll join you." Miihi grinned.
"I'll make sure to let you know when I go! We could get matching ones!" Jisung said as they all began dragging their suitcases into the credentials area.
Getting their credentials was pretty straight forward, they had to show their passport and their South Korean Athlete pass which were given out on the plane ride. After getting them their photo was taken and they could then get their credentials promptly after. As well as a few safety information like how they had to wear them the entire time they were in the village as well as keeping them on whilst out in Paris. Apparently, they got some extra perks if they wore them out? That definitely seemed to spark Changbin's interest.
