Chapter 27- Epilouge

Three years later

These past three years have been some of the best years in my life. Brooklyn is now three years old, and Blake and I have been married for two years now. We're also expecting another one on the way, but Blake doesn't know yet. I've been trying to find a creative way to tell him. Today is the day I've decided to tell him.

And as for Daniel, got sentenced to twenty-five years in prison without the possibility of parole.

Today, Blake and I are going to take Brooklyn to the zoo. She's been asking to go for about two weeks now. She is a big ball of energy and she likes to talk, non stop.

"Mommy, when are we leaving?"

"In a few minutes ladybug." I said

"Who's ready to go to the zoo?" Blake said as he was coming down the stairs

"Me me, I am daddy!" Brooklyn said

He picked her up and took her to the car and we were on our way. When we first got to the zoo, the first thing Brooklyn wanted to see was the tigers, since they are her favorite animal.

"Mama, why do tigers have stripes?"

"I don't know, ladybug, they probably have them for camouflage. So when they're out in the jungle, they can hide from other animals." I said

"Oh. Mama?

"Yes."

"Can we get a pet tiger?" She asked

"I don't think so, ladybug. They aren't exactly pet friendly."

"Ah man."

I looked up at Blake and he just smiled and shook his head.

We stayed at the zoo for a few more hours until we decided that it was time to go.

"Mama, daddy, may we get some ice cream?"

"Sure thing." Blake said

"Yay!"

After we ate our ice cream, we headed home, where I would finally tell Blake the news. I decided on telling home by having Brooklyn put on a shirt that said 'I'm going to be a big sister' and her go show him.

"Okay, Brooklyn, now when we go in there what are you going to say?" I asked her

"Daddy, do you like my new shirt?" She said

"Good. You ready?"

"Mhm."

We walked into the kitchen were Blake was getting a drink of water.

"Daddy!"

"Brooklyn, you don't have to yell, I'm right here." He said with a chuckle

"Do you like my new shirt?" She asked

He looked at her shirt and read it, and he furrowed his eyebrows. It took him a minute to finally register what was going on. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Are you serious!" He said a little too excited

"Yes. You're going to be a dad again." I said

He came up and hugged me and gave me a kiss

"Eww!" Brooklyn whined

"Come here you." Blake said chasing after her. He finally caught up with her and they were both nothing but a fit of giggles.

I smiled at the sight in front of me. This truly was my Something Better.
