Explaining what happened with the last time spell to Klaus and Elijah is kind of funny. After a few small hints as a preview, we decide to simply show them the video. Klaus goes to watch it immediately. Caroline agrees to let him see it and sends Bonnie to show it to him.

"Tell me what you named her when I come back, guys!" he calls to us over his shoulder on his way out of the room.

I slightly shake my head, feeling exhausted. Elijah is sitting on the bed next to me. Sometime during our explanations, he sat down and took our newborn baby into his arms. He must have seen that I was exhausted from the birth, attentive as he is. So now, my head is resting comfortably on his shoulder while we both admire our daughter. And she is perfect. Her eyes are so beautiful. Her skin is smooth, even if still a little wrinkly. Her tiny hand grabs adorably grabs her father's index finger.
"Hey, my baby." I whisper.

Elijah runs his thumb along her rosy cheek, so carefully as if she was made of porcelain. His index finger is still in her grasp; he holds it completely still.
"Perfect little girl."

"She is perfect." I agree with him.

In my peripheral vision, I notice on the side how Caroline and Jenna say goodbye to a smiling Dr Fell, thanking her for her huge help. Sometime in the next few days, I'm definitely going to thank her too; she really was invaluable here. But right now, I'm still exhausted and busy adoring my newborn daughter together with my husband.

Elijah gives me a soft kiss on the head. "Have you decided what to name her yet?"

"No. I wanted us to decide that together, so I didn't go ahead without you. But I do have an idea." I answer.

Caroline chimes in. "Oh, so do I! In fact, I have several ideas concerning names! I made a list."

"Care-" I try to stop her.

"Here, here it is!" Ignoring my attempt, my bubbly blonde friend takes a seat on my bedside, opposite Elijah and shows me a list of names on her padlet.
"So, I was thinking. What about Laura? Or Angelina? Or Monica? Or..."

Over the next several minutes, Caroline lists up dozens of names. Elijah politely listens, Jenna sits at the end of the bed and tries not to laugh and Jeremy, Alaric and Klaus have joined us in the room and are now scattered all over my bedroom, their eyes fixated on my baby. I myself pay very little attention to what Caroline says, even if I'm not proud of my ignorance. It's just that her ideas don't seem so fitting in comparison to mine and - have I mentioned it before - I am still exhausted. In addition, somewhere during the listing of those names, Klaus comes back. He looks at what's happening, I see a flash of understanding in his eyes and then, he leans against my wall with a diabolically amused smirk on his face.

Eventually, when the talking finally stops, I raise my voice.
"You know what I thought? I thought that it would be nice for our child to have a meaningful name. Like Hope's. She was named Hope because she symbolized the hope for her family."
