A Powerless FanFiction

 It's been three weeks, and now we are preparing for the ball tonight, which means tomorrow I could die. I'm not going to let that happen, but I have to admit that it is a possibility. I'm standing in front of the mirror in my room, messing with the fold of my suit and the way the buttons of the shirt were sitting. I don't know when, but at some point Paedyn slipped into my room standing behind me. I only notice her when she slips her arms around my waist and rests her head against my back.

"Well, hello Pae," I mutter to her, touching her hands gently, twisting her wedding ring on her hand.

"Hey," she says to me simply. I finally turn around and see her fully for the first time. She's wearing a purple gown with silver accents. Her hair has now grown down to her shoulder blades, gently framing her face. Then, the most noticeable, and I must say my favorite part, is the way the dress lays on her. It was not tight, but it still showed her pregnancy bump perfectly.

"Well, I must say you look gorgeous," I say running my hand along her jawline.

"I must say you don't look too bad yourself Azer."

I smile resting my forehead on hers. Then I feel the cold tip of a dagger pressed against my throat. I can't help but crack a smile as she looks up at me with a smirk.

"Well Darling, if you wanted me in bed you could have just said so," I remark.

She rolls her eyes at me. "Azer, I hate you," she says with a smile.

"Oh really, you do? Then prove it to me." I say bluntly. She takes no time wrapping her other hand around my neck, kissing me, still with her knife against my throat. "Well, I must say, Darling, you do not disappoint," I say when she pulls away.

"Oh, that was just a reminder that if you die in the trials, I will find a way to bring you back to life just to kill you myself." She smiles smugly, finally pulling the knife away from my throat.

"The warning is well heeded." I laugh, gently rubbing where the blade had just been pressed.

"Just do me one favor for me will you?" She says to me with begging eyes.

"Oh and what would that favor be?" I reply

"Kill Blaire for me, and make it bloody." She replies with an evil smirk

"Your wish is my command, Darling." I smile. "Now let's go have you make your grand entrance," I said offering her my arm.

We walk down the halls, then I drop her off with the rest of the girls. I leave her to make her entrance, while I make my own. Entering the ballroom I am overwhelmed with the sights and sounds in the room. Glasses of alcohol were passed around along with undiscerning dishes that wouldn't fill anyone's stomach.

Then the room sounds and the women start making their entrance. Blaire starts the pack in a dress that shows every part of herself that should otherwise be covered. I Avert my eyes from the disgusting sight as she makes her way down the stairs and links her arm with Kitt. Followed by Andie who joins Jax. Then the thing that shocks me is that, unlike the rest of the women, when Serena enters the room, like Paedyn she is wearing the opposite of that traditional green, her dress being a bright pink with purple streaks hidden within the toole.

Then, finally, Paedyn made her way into the room, and I swear she is even more beautiful than the first time I saw her today. Her purple dress flowed with every step. Finally joining me at the bottom of the stairs.

She hooks her arm through my own as we make our way throughout the room. Within no time we are standing with Jax and Andy talking and laughing.

"Oh, Jax why do you look so haunted I guess is the right word." I tease and he just goes beat red.

"That is not funny you asshole. It's not my fault that I'm always the one sent to go get you." He says sharply his voice cracking in embarrassment.

"Well, someone did not learn to knock so that is your fault." Paedyn pipes in and Andy just laughs with him.

"I mean she's not wrong." Andy laughs as Jax continues to get redder and redder.

"I just don't understand how you two are not embarrassed from being caught doing," he hesitates for a moment. "That." he finishes with distaste.

"One day you'll understand little brother," I say ruffling his hair. He rolled his eyes at me, before a girl that I did not know came up to him asking him to dance.

"Well, that is a story that he will never be able to live down," Pae states.

"Yeah definitely so. Just wait until he's the one getting caught in the act. I can't wait for his looks of horror." I laugh, as she grins widely.

"And I can almost guarantee that you will be the one walking in on him, and I have a feeling it will not be on purpose." She giggles.

"You Darling are not wrong," I say as I kiss her temple.

A few minutes pass, and the ball is going slowly. Even with alcohol in my system, I feel like it can go any slower. Then the song that I first danced with Paedyn with came on. She looks at me with a smile before grabbing my hand once more, and guiding me to the dance floor.

The night was going well, that was until the dinner began, and Kitt being the asshole he is set Paedyn and I as far from each other as physically possible. I sat there staring intently as she sat uncomfortably a sight kept trying to ask her about how we ended up together and how the pregnancy was going. 

As soon as the dinner was over I made my way back over to her, guiding her away from the sight before any more could be said.

But what I didn't expect was when the ball was over, one of my guards came over to me. Looking around I saw that a guard was making their way to every other competitor in the trials. Grabbing our arms they dragged us away from whoever we had been standing with and escorted us back to our rooms. Standing firmly at the doorway making sure no one could get in, or get out. I had tried to fight them, but it was futile, they had made sure to have three brawnies escort me out same with the Makoto guy.

But the thing that pissed me off the most is that I never got to say goodbye to Paedyn.
