A Powerless FanFiction

I'm walking down to the dungeon, it's been three days since the last trial, and these past three days have been a shit show. Someone broke into the castle graveyard, dug up, and made the Plagues known to the bodies. We finally caught the guy and now I'm heading down to do what I do best. Torture.

I enter the cell and see the man sitting in the corner of the room. I feel his ability, and it feels strange. Unknown, nothing like I had ever felt before. I reach for the ability grabbing ahold of it, trying to warp it in the way it was meant to be used. Then I turned when I heard a shuffling sound behind me, and a rat that was stuffed and dead just moments ago was twitching, softening, and coming back to life.

What the hell?

"What the hell are you?" I questioned raising my fist to him.

Just before I swung he put his hands up to cover his face. "I'll tell you!" he shouts "I'll tell you whatever you want to know!" he looks down at his hands in shame. "I'm what I was told is a reviver. A rare ability to say the least. I thought I was some sort of mundane until one day when I was twelve I brought my dead dog back to life." He mummers.

"So then why the hell were you in the palace graveyard?"

"The girl in the trials. The 'traitor' she didn't deserve to die, I wanted to bring her back, give her a new chance at life." he mumbled staring at the floor.

He was trying to bring back Adena, shit, her grave was one of the ones that was dug up.

"Are there consequences to your abilities?" I asked him

"Not that I know. She's already back, said she was going to find her best friend and some guy named Mak," he muttered.

"You realize that things that are already dead normally want to stay dead," I said as I turned on my heel leaving the cell and breaking into a jog as I went to Paedyn. There was no telling how she might react and there was no telling what this raised from the dead Adena may be like, and I had no intention of figuring those questions out the hard way.
