"He was out drinking?" Cecily gasped.

"Yup." I said bitterly.

"That's terrible." Sophie frowned.

We were sitting in English the next morning, and I was telling Sophie and Cecily about Nate. I hadn't spoken to Nate all at last night or this morning, despite his attempts at trying to talk to me. I was still so angry at him. I mean, how dare he blow me off to go drink. I would not have it. I eyed him in his seat, in the front row.

"Well, good on you for not talking to him. That's so horrible of him." Sophie said.

"Oooooh are we gossiping?" Will turned around to us.

Cecily rolled her eyes. "It's none of your business, Will."

"Your brother was out drinking then, wasn't he Tessa?" Will smirked. "Sounds like something I would do."

"Don't make a joke out of it." I glared at him.

Cecily looked as if she were about to say something, but something caught her gaze and she stopped. I followed her gaze, to see Gabriel Lightwood walking into the classroom, and I knew why she was staring. He looked quite attractive, he was wearing black jeans, and a white T-shirt.

"Stop drooling, Cecy, if you want him I doubt he'll say no." Will smirked.

"Shut up, Will." Cecily hissed.

" 'Lo there Gabriel." Will smirked. "Are you looking for a girlfriend by any chance?"

Gabriel scowled. "No. Why?"

"Because I just happen to know a girl who likes you." Will smirked.

"Who?" Gabriel asked.

"It's--" Will started.

"It's me." I cut him off.

I looked over at Cecily who looked was looking at me surprisedly, and I winked at her. I didn't want her to have go through the embarrassment.

"You?" Gabriel said shocked.

"You like him?" Will said disbelievingly.

"Yup." I said, trying not to laugh.

"Okay class, open your textbooks to page 394." Mrs. Glass instructed.

Gabriel gave me a smile and turned around. Will, meanwhile, looked shocked but he slowly turned around. About half in hour into class, Mrs. Glass told us our next project.

"Okay class, we will be starting a new project. You will be assigned a partner, and you both have to pick a novel you both like. You will then, tell the class about the novel and the characters. You also must talk about how the story, or the characters, relate to your lives." Mrs. Glass explained. "I will now tell you your partners."

She then went off reading the list:

"Blake and Madison. Shelby and Lisa. Logan and Alexander. Jessamine and Nate. Natalie and Jem. Cecily and Gabriel."

At that, Cecily practically died in her seat. I laughed, and squeezed her hand.

"Cassandra and Jake. Lucy and Daisy. Will and Tatiana--" Mrs. Glass started, and Will's hand shot into the air.

"Uhm excuse me, but I do not agree with my pairing." Will interrupted hastily.

"Why not Mr. Herondale?" Mrs. Glass asked.

"Tatiana and I do not get along. I doubt we'll work well together." Will said.

"Mrs. Glass, I assure you Will and I work very well together." Tatiana protested.
