Sam's POV

Two weeks have passed since my Dad and I moved to Mystic Falls. And it has been two weeks since my mom has been watching our every move.

One day when my father was out grocery shopping, my mother had stopped by, warning me not to let anyone in. We went through the basics of giving a vampire permission to enter the premises and what not. For those reasons, she told me to talk to her through the opened back door, she couldn't get in without an invite.

It's gross to think that she drinks blood to survive. I did a lot of researche about her kinds, and much to my suprise, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters and other supernatural creatures existed.

My mother had told me not to speak of her existance, not even to my own father.

I've started school last week, trust me when I say, I hate being the new girl.

I've met a guy named Jeremy Gilbert and his sister Elena. Turns out she's pretty cool, I've also met her boyfriend, Stephan Salvatore.

Jeremy also work at Mystic Grill and so does Dimitri, his teacher.

I was currently waiting for my Dad to pick me up at school.

I glanced at my phone screen, and saw it was 5:45pm, on a Friday afternoon.

I swept my eyes around the school's parking lot, in high hopes to see my Dad but to no avail. Speaking of parents, I have not seen my mother in two days, I'm starting to worry if she's okay.

Of course she's okay, she's a vamp-

A familiar beeping sound, sounded in my ears.

I jumped, almost falling on my face, grabbed my phone to see a familiar ID, I answered.

"Hey Jeremy, what's up?"I asked, adjusting my backpack on my shoulder.

"Hi, um I know you don't have work tonight but can you please come 6:30 tonight?I really need help." he asked, desperately.

I cleared my throat, after seeing my Dad's truck pull up to the parking lot, I quickly hopped in.

"Yeah sure, I'll see you then, gotta go Jeremy." I say and quickly hung up."Hi Dad, it's nice to see you're here early." I said, my voice full of sarcasm.

"Sorry about that, I had some stuff to do at the office." he says, pulling out of the empty parking lot .And yes, he has a job as a mechanic, he started working  two days before I started school. I smiled at him while putting my brown hair into a messy bun.

"Anyway, how was school?" he asks.

I looked at him like he was mad. "Did you not hear my complaints last night, about how much I hated it?" I asked incredulously.

I can be pessimistic when I get ready.

"You'll get used to it. Who's this Jeremy guy, has he ask you out yet?"dad asks.

I was choking on my water.

"Dad were just friends, that's all." I insisted.

"Can I ask you something?" he asks.

"If it's about Jeremy, don't bother." I said, turning to look out the window.

"Fine." he says.

I knew it, he wanted to know more about Jeremy.

Too many questions, dinner and my Dad's constant plead for me to be safe with his truck later, I arrived at work at Mystic Grill.

Getting out of my Dad's truck, then finally securing it, I made my way inside.

Work here I come.
