Samantha's POV.

After my father fainted three and a half hours ago, my mom and I put him on the couch and waited for him to wake up on his own.

We'd been talking about everything and nothing in particular. My mother was fun to be around, that is unless someone pissed her off.

She was ecstatic about actually being able to see my father face to face and not from miles away. She needed this, they both did. They needed to be close to each other. It was better that way because they would be able to confess their love to each other all the time and I know that it'll annoy me like always, but it'd be refreshing to see my parents connect again.

My mother would not stop questioning me about him every time we hung out. The questions were getting on my nerves sometimes but I knew she cared, she still loved him, she still loved us.

I don't think that will ever change, I don't want it to. I couldn't live through that pain again.

My dad woke up a few minutes after we made coffee and sat around in the living room.

I felt like a weigh had been lifted off my shoulder. It felt good to have him know and believe that she was here, alive.

"Sweetheart, are you okay?" she asked as she helped him sit.

He nodded slowly and winced. I looked at him carefully. "He's fine." she answered.

Oh, how I hated that she could read my mind when we're in the same space.

"What happened?" dad asked, accepting the coffee I'd made for him. "You fainted at the sight of your wife." I said. A smile grazing my lips.

He glared at me. Whoops?

"I know what happened, but thanks Sammy." sarcasm was dripping from his mouth.

I smiled nonetheless.

"So what really happened?" he asked this time  daring me to speak.

"It's a long story." mom said. He squeezed her hand.

"I'm in no hurry, after all we have to catch up on lost times." he said winking....

And that was my cue to go.....
